NCAA College Football 2018/2019

If the SoCal schools don’t get their act together, there’s not much there to work with.

Should’ve added Texas/OU as was rumored to be on the cards. That ship has sailed though...

I really thought both were headed West to join that conference. Would have made it a super conference with two more schools joining the move with. Always felt it should have been a Texas two-step (Texas + TCU or Tech) plus the two Oklahoma schools going west. But these days I think Boise should move up.

Seeing as how things currently stand, it really should just be four super conferences of sixteen schools. Including Notre Dame being forced to join up by yanking their stupid special ranking passes they get (if that still exists for them). They're simply not the draw nor powerhouse of the 80s.

I'd say something like this to get to 16 in each:
ACC - Central Florida & ?
Big Ten (Big North) - Notre Dame & ?
PAC12 (PAC16) - Boise State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas
SEC - ? & ?

Possible candidates: Army, BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, TCU, Texas Tech, West Virginia

If OU and UT went to the SEC, feck it all. Those two could very well dominate.

Personally, I'd rather see the entire thing blown up and revert back to the traditional conferences with a legit 8- or 16-team playoff system. Had that existed in the first place, as it should have, we'd still have the old Big 8 and SWC, etc.

I think the long arc of momentum is headed that way, but they’ve seemed to have taken a breather on re-alignment.

If I recall, it was UT that screwed everything up because they wanted their TV channel. Otherwise, the BigXII would be defunct by now. But they wanted to stand pat so the skeleton of the conference was propped up by the two schools for the time being.

And OU would be gone were they not tied to UT at the hip. There’s a lot of tradition and old money between Austin-Dallas-Norman.

UT's massive TV deal is what ultimately drove their jealous young brother, A&M, away to the SEC.

Looks like Kyler passed Tua in odds to win the Heisman. Probably the most interesting debate for that little pewter guy in a while.

Urban Meyer stepping down after the Rose Bowl for health reasons. Big loss from a recruiting and coaching perspective.
If it’s anything like his “health problems” at Florida, then his wife probably caught him hooking up with another college girl. Allegedly of course...

ND would be underdogs to anyone else in the top 6. But they’re well coached without any glaring weaknesses so that gives them a chance anytime.

If they make it to the final I hope it's more competitive than 2012.
I know I just said they’d always have a chance, but I don’t think they matchup well at all to Bama or even OU. Both of those teams are always going to put points on the board without any doubt, and ND would struggle to keep up.

Ah yeah, boomer!

I thought there'd be OU QB fatique with this award, but Kyler might be as deserving as any recent Sooner that has won. We'd have multiple additional losses without him...

As good as Tua is, Murray is far more important to his team than the former. But I hope Tua gets it next year.

The reaction from Alabama fans/idiots on Murray winning the Heisman. Shit is both hysterical and frightening. Taking college football as life affecting is ridiculous.

I like how ‘Bama defenders now have the OU game circled on the calendar.’

Because before they were just kind of ‘meh’ about a championship semifinal against a historically great offense, right...?

Bama fans are the type who get passionately bitter over UCF claiming a national championship even though Bama won the actual national title trophy. They act like bitches the whole lot of them.

Up there with Ohio State idiots as the most self-entitled righteous dickweeds around.

I moved to Georgia in 2003 and I can recall from that year to about 2008 that I could count on two hands how many persons I saw wearing Alabama merchandise. But suddenly in 2009 they came out of the trailer parks and farms in droves.

I can't stand OU, it's the Texan in me, but (cues up Kevin Keegan) -- But I'll tell ya - you can tell him now if you're watching it - we're still fighting for this title, and he's got to go through Oklahoma to get something, and... and I tell you honestly, I will love it if they beat them, love it!

As an alumni from tOSU, I respectfully disagree! A lot of those idiots have never stepped a foot on Ohio State campus. They come out on Saturdays to get away from whatever they can and give us fans a really bad name.

Bama fans are pricks of the highest order. I went to the Sugar Bowl game between Ohio State and Bama and while walking to the stadium, got so many middle fingers, questions like 'how does it feel to lose to the SEC' etc (before kickoff).

Bourbon Street turned into buckeye territory that night. Ducks fans are quite docile. The best though that I've experienced is University of Kentucky! Super nice and friendly.

Each fan base has those idiots that give the entire fan babase a bad name...

Take the nut man and the neutron man - plenty of petitions going around to not let them whore themselves out as 'buckeye' fans! I despise them with a passion.

Emphasizing the word “THE” in the Ohio State University doesn’t help your case mate. And that aspect is universal among the fan base. ;)

It helps with all these state universities that start with the letter 'O,' to be fair.

Besides, the worst are clearly LSU fans. And high and mighty UT snobs, of course...

Pretty much any big SEC school has a deplorable fan base. Bunch of cousin feckers with a superiority complex. How much worse can it get?

Haha. True. That's cause there is OSU, OSU but only one tOSU! :D

Read online he's either OU or OSU bound as both will lose their starting QB this spring (Murray likely to MLB and Haskins to the NFL). There will be other schools in the mix of course but he wants to be a starter (meh).

I've heard OU a lot in the past 24 hours. Apparently Fields and Jadon Haselwood (one of the top receivers in the country this year) are good friends and may want to play together next year.

I recall a handful of UGA n̶u̶t̶t̶e̶r̶s̶ fans wanting Fromm to be benched after the LSU game and turn it over to Fields. I'm over here like Fromm is a future NFL QB, no one has a clue what Fields will develop into.

Such is the irrational reactionary behavior of college football fanatics.
