NCAA College Football 2017/2018

New CFP Rankings heading into the Conference title weekend...
  1. Clemson (11-1)
  2. Auburn (10-2)
  3. Oklahoma (11-1)
  4. Wisconsin (12-0)
  5. Alabama (11-1)
  6. Georgia (11-1)
  7. Miami (10-1)
  8. Ohio State (10-2)
Should Auburn be the only team to lose out of 1-4, Georgia would leapfrog Bama into the final top 4 rankings.

Seems like the conventional wisdom among most fans and pundits is that the SEC and ACC champs are definitely in. And I doubt the voters would deliberately swim against the tide of public sentiment, as it would only discredit the process.

The only confusion that may arise is if TCU and OSU win their games at which point Bama would definitely be in play again - and in OSU's case, if they win by impressive blowout then they will likely be back in the mix of the other games unfold in their favor as well.

Yes, those would definitely make the final rankings something of a spectacle

BTW....I hear Tre Lamar is out for you this weekend.
Missing him and CB Mark Fields

What’s puzzling me is Lamar’s injury is listed as a “stinger” (the nerves in his AC joint in his shoulder got pinched)... I don’t understand how a stinger keeps you out for 3 weeks.

I had stingers regularly playing linebacker. I might miss a play or two, but never a game or two.

I’d like to think that they’re underselling his injury or something.

Dabo claims he's out until Bowl practice a week from Sunday.

I just don’t see how an actual stinger can be that serious. That’s something that you can legit play through without even coming off the field if you really need to.

Also, Lane Kiffin is such a tool.

1. Jimbo Fisher is leaving FSU for Texas A&M. Not sure if this is the best move for him personally.

2. Pac-12 championship game is tonight. Rooting against Stanford (the Arsenal of the Power 5 conference teams)

Both teams have like no running game so far.
Patterson is a smart coach; he knows despite this offense being a derivative of the spread, you still have to stop the run game first. It's similar to Chip Kelly's Oregon offense in that regard.

Unfortunately for Gary, a good QB in this system is deadly. As we've seen in the second half.

What is the Fisher fascination with A&M? Did he coach at/graduate from there?
Massive potential. A&M should be a powerhouse program, but never quite has.

The recruiting draw of the SEC and a location in the honey hole of HS football, a massive donor base, also massive fan support, oh.. and a lot of $$$

The SEC game seems foreign after the BigXII game. The mix of styles in the playoffs should be interesting.

Petersen would be dumb to go there. He's a Pacific Northwest native - don't see him leaving for that shitshow in bumbfeck hickville, especially considering the handful of programs he's turned down in the past five or so years.

I think the playoffs would have been way more interesting with Miami and Auburn in it.

If results stand, the last playoff spot will come down to Ohio State vs Alabama.
