AI is only second to MJ in average points in the playoffs
 
Sorry to burst your bubble Ruddy, but Iverson's high point output only illustrates how one dimensional the Sixers are, and how much they rely on him to get wins. Jordan was the same way for much of the 80s. He scored lots of points and the Bulls ended up flopping out of the playoffs early every single year until Scottie Pippen showed up to provide some balance to the Bulls game. The rest is of course history. The moral ? The Sixers will need more than spectacular individual solo efforts from AI if they want to even come close to winning a Championship.

i would have agreed with you in 2001

your post sums up that team to a tee

not this one though AI was so hot the other night they just kept getting the ball to him

snows having a great year,his best as a sixers

kvh is a good 2nd scorer with an average 16 points this season but was carring a injury in the game against NO and he has to step up on wednesday

it was KT 1st game in the playoffs and looked scared,plus was in early foul trouble but hes been pounding the boards for us

he can get 20/15 every night easily in the east and thats what hes been doing since the all-star break

and when a guy like AI is that hot why stop going to him?

Who's going to stop him ? The Kings, The Lakers, The Mavs, The Spurs, The Pistons. My point is that the Sixers don't have as broad a talent base as the Bulls had. Its all good and well to give the ball to the hot player, but players don't stay hot forever and when they cool off, you need other supporting players to step up. I don't see a Pippen, a Kerr, a Paxson, a Horace Grant, etc on the Sixers. We shall see. ;)

dont get me wrong i dont think we are going to win the championship

the only team that can nearly stop AI is the pistons because of big ben inside,it stops AI from driving inside and he just settles for the outside jumper

but in the playoffs it will be a different story

if we get past NO i could see us going to the finals

but as much as i hate to say it i think its a 4peat

I'm not a Laker fan, though I do prefer them to the other teams that are still in it. The Lakers are going to have to work much harder if they want to 4 peat this year. Whether Kobe takes alot of shots or whatever. Its going to be a much tougher road.

There is no question in the refs' commitment to the Lakers' cause... They quite simply get away with murder!!!

For God's sake, I think the refs have to stop putting up with Kobe's antics!!! How many times did we see him showing thorough contempt at the refs decisions yesterday and not once, I repeat, not once was that little twat Teed up!!!

On the other hand, the slightest sign of a reaction from any Timberwolves player was immediately Teed!

I feel it is only just for the Lakers to have lost the game yesterday! The refs gave them the game on a platter, really!

I would love it if Kevin (MVP, O yes!) stuffs Kobe (MVP, my foot!) for the rest of the series! It would be nothing short of orgasmic!

Oh yes! They need some confidence building games for round 2 after the way they played at the end of the season - Portland are just the ticket.

Let's all hope the Lakers get fecked out of it in round 1 an all.

Lakers got it done in the forth.

Kobe is clearly banged up, not on his game at all.

They won't win feck all playing like they did in the 2nd and 3rd.
 
I watched that game last night - Lakers were utter pony until the 4th and even then they were assisted by a Wolves collapse.

In other more important news the Mavs did a Lakers and decided they just needed to turn up to win last night and promptly lost.

Good win for Phoenix too.
 
Lakers energy in the first was good until they took Shaq and Kobe out and the Wolves made a run, but playing like that is the way forward.

Its good though that they pulled out a must win game because they were shite and still got it done.

They need to wake up big time though.
