NBA 2022-2023

It's interesting that you say that because I was convinced that you would think the opposite. Beyond needing a playmaker outside of Conley, McDaniels is likely going to get a +20m contract this summer and Edwards is getting his max contract, they also want to extend Naz Reid, so unless the owners want to be deep into the luxury tax, at least one big contract is leaving. And it seems easier to trade KAT this summer than next when his super max needs to be matched.

PS: The Wolves also need a scoring PF.

I think Wolves will let Towns have another season next to Gobert before deciding which one to trade in 2024.

Did Miller avoid getting in trouble because there’s a chance he didn’t know what was going to happen? You know American gun culture better than me, is it not normal to store guns for people you know? It seems in this case he was storing the gun for his teammate and the teammate told him a couple of days later that he wanted it back, so he drove over to drop it off? It’s his teammate, so is there a chance that he’s not thinking this guy, who is his friend and teammate at college, is about murder someone tonight?
That's probably what happened and why he wasn't charged.

'He provided them with a gun with which a girl was murdered' doesn't have the best optics but 'he returned the gun owned by his teammate' without the context of following events doesn't sound the same.

I wasn't aware he was present at the scene though. That's much worse. I thought he had provided the gun a few days before.

That's probably what happened and why he wasn't charged. I don't really know what he was supposed to do differently in this situation rather than not hang out with a guy who ended up being a murderer in the first place.

'He provided them with a gun with which a girl was murdered' doesn't have the best optics but 'he returned the gun owned by his teammate' without the context of following events doesn't sound as dramatic.
His friend called him up in the middle of the night to bring him his gun and to meet him in an alley in the bar district. What did he think he wanted it for?

Sam Vecenie proposed something like Bridges and Claxton for pick 3 plus some kinda contract going to Brooklyn. Probably some other stuff on the margins to make it work but that was the general idea. I thought that one was interesting. I'd probably still just draft Scoot or Miller though.

Yeah I still hate that idea. Bridges is a great player if you already have an established team. Add him to Bucks, Nuggets or even Sixers (hehe, they traded him) and they end up much better than they are and possibly going from contenders to champions. Add him to a mediocre team and not much will happen I think.

I do not think it's possible to go past the second round with Dame as your best player anymore. Probably not even past the first round given the other roster deficiencies..

I wasn't aware it was the same day event. I thought he returned the gun before that night, not the very same night.

It's likely but it's easier to trade him this summer and with the new CBA Gobert contract is going nowhere unless you pay someone to take it. This year you have to match a 35m contract, next year it's 50m, a super max. That's why I think that any team that rumored to be interested will push for it this year and if Connelly has any sense he avoids that headache now rather than later because if there are no suitors in 2024, the Wolves are in bad shape.

Having lived in Alabama for 20 years I can confidently guess that if the victim had been a blonde sorority girl and he had not been the star player on a #1 seed team he would have absolutely been charged. Putting aside the horrific of the incident, when you couple this and also some of the shit he did after (pregame warmup right after where his teammates patted him down) and a team would be stupid to risk a pick on someone with that kind of decision making.

He will definitely go no lower than no. 3. Seems like it’s 50/50 for Charlotte.

I am sure he will, and I am sure most Charlotte fans will have no issue with him as long as is scoring.
Of course. Many of them want Miles Bridges back (and you can guarantee that he will be back).

One of my top baskeball "what if's". I remember being terrified of Sabonis when the Lakers played the blazers. His injuries meant he could only go 25-30 min a night, but man he was such a unicorn back then.

Speaking of what ifs... Sabonis in the NBA in the late 80s is one of them. Here are a handful more.

What if... the Lakers and Rockets had completed the Olajuwon trade rumored during the 91-92 season? (May not have occurred until summer 1992)

What if... Boston had the luck of the bouncing ball in the 1997 lottery and drafted Duncan?

What if... Dallas had not traded Jason Kidd in 1996?

What if... the Lakers had traded Kobe around 2006 - where would he have gone to?

To add to that:

What if... Len Bias had kicked his drug habbit (Michael Ray Richardson too)
What if... Petrovic had not died
What if... The Thunder had ran it back one more time with KD/Wes/Harden/Ibaka
What if... Penny had not gotten hurt
What if... Detroit had drafted Melo

I see they sent Tony fecking Brothers, oh this gonna be a clown fiesta, actually its already is.

Are those on ESPN mental, at least aknowledge it hit him in the head

hahahhaha wtf

Isn't that hindsight too given how Robinson's and Duncan's careers panned out? Duncan appears on most lists of best draft prospects of all-time so I'll give them that, but Robinson doesn't.

In the not so distant past I'd say Zion and AD might be close to what Wembanyama is as a prospect now. And if you look at his frame I'm not at all convinced that he'll have a long NBA career tbh.

Wemby is the most hyped prospect since Lebron.

Spurs didn’t just get #1 picks, they got 2 of the most hyped ones of all time.

Lillard’s contract is so rough for a contender especially with 215m left.

Just musing about if he was traded to the Warriors and what would I give up for that?

Poole + Kuminga + PBJ + one 1st? Poole would likely get traded given Simons and him are similar players. Kuminga and PBJ are both very good pieces for a rebuilding team to develop together with the #3 pick, Sharpe and Simons.

For the Warriors, it solves the offensive issues when Klay is misfiring and ball handling when Steph is resting.

So who does the defending, klay isn't a good defender anymore add Lillard and every team is going to score 130 against them.

Lebron is still a very good player but he isn't even a shadow of cavs lebron. Now way cavs lebron misses that layup after that steal.

Jokic needs to stop forcing Gordon in attack, he supposed to be smart one

Lakers have been great down the stretch all season and they made it close at the end but the Nuggets hung on. Forty plus minutes for AD and LeBron in another loss.

This could be a sweep.

This is really disappointing for the Lakers, could easily have won the game. LeBron missed 2 easy layups and the open dunk (+all these misses from downtown), AD not on it in the offense today. And then Murray with an simply outstanding 4th quarter to decide it. Don't think it's over but feel like the Lakers should really have won one of these two in Denver.

Murray man, what a 4th by the struggling fella!!!
I said it earlier in the season. The lad's never going to be a superstar but he's a great complimentary player and every so often gives you a game like this.

Denver had 10+ point leads in the last quarter in both games and almost choked it both times. I think neither team is shining bright in the clutch time.

But the point is that they didn't. Lakers have been tough at the end all season and they made the expected run but the Nuggets stayed strong and didn't fold and now they're up 2-0.

Malone is such a clown, regardless is it true or not, just shut the feck up and take Jeff with you

Think lakers take game 3 now and then the series basically comes down to game 4
I wouldn't count on that. Joker has 0 points in 4th in both games and lakers still lost. If Hachimura and Reaves go cold lakers will get destroyed, those 2 are basically providing a 3rd superstar level contributions and lakers are 2-0 down.

Miami Heat - Denver Nuggets would be quite something.

Feck small bets and some small affinities along the way, that right there is a people's final.

I'd like it if one of Butler or Jokic won a championship.
