NBA 2021-2022

Celtics off to a blinder, expectations are low but Christ…

Davis has to play the 5 for the Lakers to be a threat. The corpse that is Deandre Jordan offers nothing at all.

How is Dwight Howard not a top 75 player, but Damian Lillard and Anthony Davis are?

He could be sensitive and while people are obviously joking about it, but given his propensity to let things bother him, i wonder whether he was in an irrasible mood due to that.

The Lakers don't need problems, and this start has been a mess. Rajon Rondo simulated pointing a gun at a fan, who promptly swatted Rondo's hand away and was ejected for his reaction.

I think when a GM says outright he won’t trade a player for the entirety of their contract. Then he is definitely guilty of tanking the player's value.
Except he didn't say that. Has any NBA player has ever tanked their own career by refusing to do their best for the team they're on, and sat out a season without pay? That's what Simmons is looking at.

NBA players have to be prepared to play on the other side of the continent from where they're from or would prefer to live. There's isn't a history of players forcing moves with 4 years left on a contract. If it's 1 year, and they're not going to resign, then the team benefits from even a poor trade, at least they get something. That's not the case here.

No one is ignoring that. This summer already showed that no team is going to give 3 first-round picks or a star player for Simmons. This is what I meant when I said Morey is overvaluing him and purposefully tanking his value.

No, the only person tanking his value is Simmons himself.

Morey is well within his rights to expect Simmons to be professional and actually turn up and play while they work out a trade that works out for everyone. Instead Simmons is basically making a mockery of the rules by turning up just to avoid his salary from being suspended and citing mental issues to avoid getting fined from acting like a bitch in practice.

He's a max contract player, there's just very little teams that have the assets to trade for him in the first place. The NBA should just threaten to suspend his contract and allow the Sixers to get his salary off their books and not allow him to sign for any other club until he reaches a deal with the Sixers. He'll make a miraculous recovery from his mental health and suddenly announce how much he loves the team and his teammates.

With the way he's been handling this whole issue, Simmons is either very stupid or he's getting some very bad advice.

You’re conveniently leaving out the part where his own teammates and coach hung him out to dry in the media all summer.

So suck it up and work with the team to get a trade?

Instead he's just acting like the man-child he is and trashing his value. Nobody wants a max contract player who can't/won't shoot, let alone one who's been showing that he's a pain in the ass off the court as well.

So, it isn’t just Simmons acting like a child. Both parties have blame to take. I am not saying Simmons isn’t at fault. But the way you and several others are putting the blame entirely on Simmons is just weird to someone who isn’t a 76ers fan.

All Simmons had to do was turn-up, play to a decent level to recoup some of his value, and wait to get traded.

I can’t believe Entropy’s pro-Simmons position. Madness.
I don't agree with him but I certainly understand him. He's a Sixers fan. Fans often take unreasonable positions. It's what we do. It's why we're fans.

Look, the 76ers totally mismanaged Ben Simmons and they are paying the price now. They should never have so publicly gone after him when they lost to the Hawks, no matter how much truth was there. Now there is no way they will get a reasonable trade for Simmons and this situation will only get worse.

Tyler Herro is a problem.

He's finally decided to put some work on that talent and become a great player that his talent justifies. It was obvious he lost his concentration from the game last season and his popularity went to his head. He's going to be an all star soon.

They mismanaged him, but the quotes after game 7 are just a small part of that. The damage was done in the years before that.
Doc Rivers (who is a bigger problem for the 6ers than Simmons imo, dude has delivered nothing but big talk and hot air since 2008) and Embiid did throw him under the bus a little after game 7 against the Hawks, but these 2 small instances of implied criticism were able to have such an effect because the 76ers coddled the shit out of Simmons before that. They tried to pamper him and failed to hold him accountable, so when it reached a point where he just couldn't be protected from facing criticism anymore he was already way too far up his own ass.

giannis and the bucks look like they've learned this is a marathon , not a sprint watching them play in the 1st 4 games -

bulls impressive start too

i like the east this year , very competitive

Nervy end to this Bulls game!
Yeah, the Raptors fought until the end, but the Bulls' better players made a difference in the end. Our turnovers made things for us, and it's a great learning experience for the young players.

I thought the Pacers made a mistake taking Duarte over Moses Moody, but so far out looks like a tremendous pick up at 13, which often as not is a player that doesn't even stay in the league for 5 years.

Very untidy game by the Warriors especially in the first half. But a win is a win.

So you're saying NYC hasn't been the same since the 90s?

It hasn't! There was a mini-resurgence when Carmelo took them to the Eastern Conference semifinals but post 2000 NYC has gone from one nonsense to another:

9/11
Tourists flooding Times Square
All the fun clubs being shut down
Rappers from NYC sounding less NYC than rappers from Buffalo
The rent is too damned high
Gentrification and poodles in Bed-Stuy
Nets moving to Brooklyn
Cuomo ruining the subways

I could go on

Great to get a win where a loss could have killed momentum. OKC impressed me

SGA playing well will keep us in a lot of games to an extent. The gulf in quality with the rest of the team is pretty drastic though. But still, competitive losses are great for this season.

The Warriors have started well. I was unsure about them this season but they look like a strong contender for a top 3-4 seed.
