NBA 2018-2019

Raptors completely imploded. Only dependent on Leonard, whilst Reddick is having a good game.

The sixers have definitely choked here as they have just been so scared to take a shot in the previous 3 possessions where they have had shot clock violations.

Kawhi feck off man

That was a stupid phase from Sixers.

Sixers almost made the ECF despite playing absolutely shit . There are so many issues with their team

How awesome have these playoffs been? Along with this champions league and title race awesome time to be a sports fan except for a United fan.

Leonard flat out getting it done. Not worrying about none of this efficiency crap, just out there getting it done.

Flashbacks to Kawhi missing key free throws in a huge elimination game, but made up for it big this time. Toronto has a taste of what an alpha and truly elite player gets you (ya ya Lebron isn't in the East any more).

I suppose Brett Brown is gone. Those three consecutive possessions where they failed to get off a decent look (especially the one off the timeout) at the end of the 4th will be the death knell.

CJ and Kawhi (even though he shot poorly, was the only one who really wanted it along with Ibaka) the stars of the day.

Congrats Toronto but I feel for Philadelphia here (though they had plenty of chances to win there).

Phila have some tough decisions to make in the offseason regarding Brett Brown, Butler and Harris. If you max out Butler and Harris, and you will probably have to if you want to keep them, you are going to have hell of a tax bill going forward and you lock yourself to a core that may or may not be good enough to win you championship. Both these contracts will be borderline untradeable once they are signed too.

They should let Harris go, keep Butler and trade Simmons.

Crazy way to end the series. Love that both Blazers and Raptors went through, but don't think either have much chance against Warriors/Bucks. But the way these playoffs are going a man can hope.

He's carrying them this quarter.
Carried them in the first half as well. Great game from him.

How does anyone rate their chances against Bucks?

They do have short bench which will probably lose them the series, but with Kawhi in such a great form could do some damage especially at home..

Ahhhh after all the depressing shite I’ve had I’ve had to put up with this year as a United fan, my NBA team comes through :D

I don’t really fancy our chances against the Bucks, but hey it’s a LeBron-less team, so who knows.

A Blazers-Raptors final would be just lovely, unlikely, but as already mentioned - a man can hope.

I think the Raptors have more than a good enough chance against the Bucks.

Rooting for a Bucks vs Blazers final now, however unlikely it might be.

Ibaka was very good last night, but If Kawhi doesn't get more support I just can't see it. Like game 5 for example where they blew out 76ers. The whole team will have to be on that level throughout the series to have a chance imo. And I don't think that is likely.

Probably Siakam vs Giannis would be the defining moment. So far in the regular season I wouldn't say he has good job on him, but if he manages to continue with his playoff form and Kawhi plays blinds out, Raptors might have a chance.

Is it me or is @Sarni a totally different person when supporting his nba team. Always negative, not daring to believe, fearing the worst for his team etc.

That sequence of posts during the game was matchday thread stuff worthy.

Lowry actually came through with some huge plays throughout the game, especially on defence and offensive boards

Kawhi with a Kobe game. Inefficient as feck, kept bricking it up until he won his team the game

This series really could only end on a shot like that

Still think Phila was the better team and Embiid's poor health in games 4 and 5 was the key to this series

I’m the same when it comes to football now though. To be honest I have been more involved in basketball than football these days.

I don’t get why D’Antoni or Morey are constantly blamed for the last 24 hours. Rockets do not have personnel to beat Warriors and it is tough to build one. The fact that they are even competitive against them is remarkable.
I agree they are weaker overall.
But they might have had a chance if they had played in a different way offensively. Setting up Harden to go one one one is not the most efficient way to go, if you want to have a chance to beat Golden State.

With the sixers its kind of the old debate again regarding what do you do with Simmons and Embiid. It's utterly bizzare that Brown had no plans to try Simmons at C . Embiid played 45 minutes and sixers were -12 in the 3 minutes he sat . This is in a situation where he wasn't even playing that well but brown had no plan for the minutes Embiid was going to sit . Simmons on the other hand again went into the zone in the 4th where you didn't even know if he was playing or not . Hard to win in the current NBA if your PG can't shoot even over Van vleet and Lowry

Just watched the highlights of Toronto vs 76ers match. Kawhi with one of the most not-Kawhi performances I have seen. He took 39 shots, that is Kobe-level.

76ers must feel gutted to lose in the last second by one of the luckiest bounces I've seen. Still credit to Raptors and to Kawhi who has transformed them. Will be fun to watch him vs Giannis.

Yeah, 76ers must be in a dilemma when it comes to Simmons. He is unbelievable in many aspects of the game, but if you cannot shoot in playoffs, then it is a really big problem. Trading him might be premature considering that this is only his second season, but at the same time no team can be successful with a point guard who essentially has zero shooting ability.

And he has no intention to address it by the look of it. Coasting to the rim may be easy for him in college or regular season but it won't work in the playoffs. He doesn't even need to shoot well, he just needs to show that he can hit a shot once in a while (like Giannis) so that they need to pay attention to him. It would change Sixers completely.
