NBA 2014-2015

Atleast the lottery pick doesn't go to a division rival if the draft lottery flip flops. Meager consolations.

I haven't either but he's shooting 38% and turning it over 4 times per game. His stats suck, he's the same overrated player he was in college.

Hmmm, I didn't look too much into the stats before but he doesn't look much of an upgrade on Knight. That's a very long and athletic core the Bucks have now though, will be interesting to see what Kidd does with them.

Seems like Miami gave up a lot for Dragic, no? I guess they must at least have an agreement that he'll stay long-term.

Does it matter if Philly get the Lakers pick? Surely no way Lakers don't finish outside the top 5 worst teams?

Ah OK, thank @Eboue Imagine being a Laker fan and sucking and then missing out on a top 5 pick because of the lottery.

The Western Conference Playoffs are going to be absolutely ridiculous.

I'm a Laker fan and I agree with you. Nothing to do with luck. It was a bad trade (easy to say in hindsight) and an undervaluing of draft picks that put them in this position.

Glad Reggie is gone. Was too disruptive in the locker room, Detroit can have him. Quite content with the Thunder's trading. Hopefully it all comes together well and the 2nd half of the season is strong.

I'm so fecking glad OKC traded Perkins, he's garbage! Getting Kanter is great; they needed another big man who can post up. D.J Augustin will score of the bench as well. Lets go Thunder!

Dragic?! Wow.

Whom did the Heat give up? First round picks? Well, they're not going to be a top 10 team in the draft this season or next season (most probably), so I don't think they're that valuable. The players they traded? Cole? Granger? Hamilton? Williams? None of them have contributed this season, to anything really. Williams makes one or two three pointers per game (which is a lot for a Heat player this season), but apart from that not much.

Last time I checked Cole was shooting 25% for the season. 25 fecking percentage. And then I stopped checking because it was too painful.

Granger had one or two good games. Out of 40+ games. Case closed. Hamilton doesn't even get any minutes.

Besides, Miami needed a good PG (especially after the emergence of Whiteside).

It's a very good trade for Miami imo. Well done Pat!

Just read Suns got Brandon Knight! He's a great young guard. Can't believe Bucks traded him.

The players don't look like much of a loss, you're right, but if I'm looking at the right thing the two first round picks are one in 2017 that's only Top 7 protected and an unprotected one in 2021. I guess they're not worrying about six years from now but I gather Miami have other picks between now and then already traded away too. With Wade and Bosh (and Riley?) gone in that time Phoenix are probably optimistic about that pick. How good is Dragic really in comparison to all the other point guards in the league? He's 29 in a few months too.

Dragic is really good. Yeah he's 29 but he hasn't played the minutes that your typical All-NBA level player would have accumulated by this point. They'll re-sign him to a max deal which will take him to 34.

What did he do that was disruptive?

WTF are the 76ers doing trading Carter-Williams?
Tanking. They want Okafor in the draft so they can play a whole team of centres.

Seriously, think they just want a top pick this summer. Tanking experts. Think they have their eye on Mudiay or D'Angelo Russell, two very exciting PGs.

Kicking the can down the road for a little bit longer. But, seriously the MCW move was ok I question the K.J McDaniels move more. And really there has been way too much discussion and praise for Hinkie and his "plan". He deserves some credit for increasing the odds for the 76ers to draft a superstar but, until that actually happens we should hold our applause. Because if they do not get that superstar to build around this was all a complete waste of everyone's time.

Riley doesn't like working with draft picks, he really doesn't rate them because it's about luck most of the time. He got incredibly lucky with Wade, but apart from that Miami hasn't been getting a lot from their draft picks. Beasley for example wasn't really worth tanking a whole season for, and that's why Riley doesn't like tanking.

The 2017 first pick is unlikely to be a top pick, and for the 2021 pick, when you know you lost the first draft pick 6 years in advance it will be easier to adapt to it, so I don't think the Heat are going to plan and tank in 2020 for example knowing that they don't have the first pick. There is still a lot of time to plan what they're going to do in the next 5-6 years with the knowledge that they lost the first draft pick in 2021 already in mind.

And like Eboue said, Dragic is a very good PG, and not only that, it's Miami's weakest position at the moment, they have 3 PGs and they're all playing badly (and I mean realllly badly). They desperately needed to improve in that position, and with Dragic I think they did that. Besides Dragic also wanted to come to Miami, so there is a good chance he's going to stay here after this season.

Terrible news, especially (but not only) for Heat fans. Bosh was hospitalized and his early tests suggest that he might have blood clots in his lungs, and that could have serious implications on his health, let alone his season/career.

All that excitement about the Dragic deal is gone, and the concern is now more than about this season for the Heat.

Hope he'll recover fully and quickly.

I was shocked when I heard it. Fortunately, according to Spoelstra, it's not life threatening. I hope he recovers fully.

Yeah especially so soon after the Jerome Kersey death. Hope Bosh recovers quick. I really like what OKC did. The thunder vs warriors first round match up will be an all time classic and if they swapped coaches I'd make the thunder favorites.

Never really rated MCW although I think Kidd and the Bucks will improve him as a player.

Luckily his clot is described as non life-threatening, so hopefully him sitting out the season is just a precaution.

In more positive news, I didn't expect us to blowout Atlanta like that
