fuuck, Gay jumpshot, misses. Overtime.
If anyone has had a mare, it is you two who seem to think that offensive contributions are relevant to who was the better defensive player.
Tonight just asks the questions, how the hell is Kobe only a 1 time MVP winner so far in his career?!
Mare
I thought you were going to tell me how "Bibby's" Kings should have won a "few" titles next but I see that you are still struck on this. sigh..
The greatest players are not called the greatest because they perfect one aspect of the game. There is a reason why Franz Beckenbauer is considered the greatest football defender of all time. With his defensive nous, he also brought along leadership and offensive quality to the play. Wallace was stale in other departments and a top 10 defender on personal choice. There is nothing else to discuss here.
We're not talking about Wallace as one of the greatest players of all time, just one of the greatest defenders. If we're talking greatest shotblockers, Mark Eaton is in the discussion regardless of his other limitations. If we are talking greatest three point shooters, Steve Kerr is in the discussion regardless of his other limitations. If we are talking greatest crossovers, Tim Hardaway is in the discussion regardless of his other limitations. If we are talking greatest defenders, Ben Wallace is in the discussion regardless of his other limitations. How is this so hard to understand? Why do you keep bringing up the fact that Ben Wallace was bad offensively like it is something anyone is even debating?
I haven't repeatedly brought it up.. Mentioned it only in my last post. Why is it so hard for you to read?
Did I say that Beckenbauer is the greatest player of all time? Or did I ever say that Wallace shouldn't be in the discussion? I mentioned that he is no way in the top 3 of all time.
Wallace was an excellent shot blocker and rebounder. Very hard working player and I can see why people like him as a defender. Though he wasn't a very good one on one defender. Shaq creened him in the finals against the Pistons. He wasn't a very good lock down defender either. He was excellent with certain aspects but also lacking in others. Wallace gets overrated because he played in a team committed on defense. No one played defense like them Pistons. Taysun, 'Sheed and the others did more than their part in defense. Was Wallace as good after he left them?
Greatest shotblockers, three point shooters etc??? - those are individual elements of the game. Where as the term "defense" contains sum of multiple elements. Sorry, but those were nonsense analogies.
In any best defender arguments, of course defense is paramount, no one is saying that Wallace shouldn't be considered as he wasn't a Jordan on offense. Though having some offensive traits is only a positive. It adds to your resume. No one helps defense like offense. Much easier to stand and defend when you contribute very little on offense.
Lakers saying Kobe is out 'indefinitely'. We're fecked
Lakers really have had little luck with injuries this season.
Reckon he'll be suiting up for the next game and still be our best player even with a busted ankle.
This is the most ridiculous conclusion to a half I've ever seen. These referees have no clue what to do.
