Probably, but I'm okay with a team like the Mavs showing them it's not going to be as easy as they think.

They'll win a couple without doubt...this only delays the inevitable, it's a bit like Man City...you know it'll happen sooner rather than later.

But as you said, LeFraud and Co, needed to be reminded, you don't get handed championships, you need to earn them, and at least for this season, they weren't good enough.

Also not that I had any doubts, but this Finals series ends any debates about LeFraud being an Alpha Dog, this team belongs to Wade, and he is the man come the crunch.

Very pleased for Nowitzki, this guy deserves the ring like no other. Feel the same for Peja, after what 15 years? of NBA service finally the championship.

This is probably the "easiest" year the Heat would of got. The Lakers will get Howard, Knicks Paul.....and both of them have deeper teams.

WOO HOO!!!

Packers, United, Corvette Racing wins Le Mans this morning, and now the Mavs win the NBA championship. WOW...WHAT A YEAR. just need my Bruins to win the Stanley Cup.

James got a 21-minute rest in the second quarter in real time, thanks to that midcourt dustup and the referees taking several minutes to look at replays before doling out the technicals.

 at the Chosen One tag.

one thing that bugged me all series long was the media's (especially espn) take that everything that went wrong for miami was their own fault and had nothing to do with Dallas' better defending, better shooting, better bench, and better coaching.

Yeap. All the talk of Lebron being the best ever will go down to toiler when he won't be able to resolve the argument if he is the best player in his team!

Dallas got a better team, and a better leader. Mavs bench is insanely good. I bet Heat still doesn't know how to solve Barea, not to mention Terry. Nowitzki showed how to get it done with an injured finger and fever sick. I don't think Wade and LeBron can't get any classless when they mocked Dirk's illness.

Note how many big plays Dirk made with his injured hand, most notably the game in the 3(?) game, with the game winning lay up in the final seconds.

Well done to the Mavs. Dirk has been incredible all playoffs and their bench has made a huge impact.

Awful stats for LeBron in the 4th quarter of the series, so much for Pippen saying "James may be the greatest player to ever play the game".

Great team performance by Dallas, they were all outstanding; Marlon, Kidd, Terry and of course Dirk. They're getting on a bit but I think they might even have one more title in them left because as a team they have been the best for quite a while.

Out of pure schadenfreude, I watched James' postgame interview. Cringeworthy. He clearly has no clue how you're supposed to handle these things. Even the thickest of athletes know you're supposed to be slightly humble, act disappointed, and congratulate the other guys. The humble and disappointed bits don't even have to be that sincere, and the congratulations can be as half-assed as you like. Lebron, on the other hand, uses this as an opportunity to crap on regular people and make fun of them for having to "go back to real life." What a shit human being.

The way LeBron was passing the ball away in the 4th quarter instead of taking shots is embarassing. For someone so talented why doesn't he ever step-up and drag his team to victory in key moments like Kobe does?

He averaged 8-9 points less per game in these Finals than his season average, that's an NBA record. Similarly, when he lost the Finals with the Cavs he averaged 5 points less in that series when compared to his season average. He seems to choke when it comes to the big moments, whereas the great players thrive.

ROFL @ using the Spurs series as a meaning for anything. James did EVERYTHING for the Cavs in that series, absolutely everything against one of the best defensive not just of this era, but of all time. Lets not talk about when Kobe averaged a whole 8-9 points less a game in the first round loss to the Suns who can't defend when he had to do it alone.....Kobe the perfect upbringing in the game, hype, but he was the second option to start his career, not as much pressure on him. Lebron has had everything on his shoulders for a decade now, incredibly pressure to succeed.

The hatred and thus making up all sorts of crazy myths towards Lebron is almost as bad as the Decision itself.

No myth, stats don't lie and they show when it comes to the Finals he really struggles. I can't comment on the Spurs series as I didn't see it but there is no doubt he didn't turn up in this series and when his team needed him he was nowhere to be seen. Passing up shots he would normally make, not really attacking the Dallas defense and scoring a grand total of 17 points in 6 4th quarters is shockingly poor for a player of his quality.

Kobe might struggle but he is always demanding the ball and is willing to attack, Dirk struggled in Game 6 but he did not hide when things weren't going right. LeBron in the last 5 minutes decided he didn't want the ball.

As for LeBron's pressure, when you're that good & have so much arrogance you create your own pressure. He is still young enough and good enough to win at least 3 rings but in these Finals he failed and he brought the pressure on himself. He could easily have said 'we can create a dynasty if we work together' instead he said 'not 5, not 6, not 7...' At the moment he's on 0.

In all honesty, if this is what Miami can do in their first year (with their best 2 role players suffering injuries for the best part of the season), the chances that they are going to have the dynasty they aimed for are pretty big..

The two aspects that they need to improve in though are rebounding and turnovers.

To be fair, the flak he has got has been a bit excessive, from the fans, to the media. The whole nation, bar Dade County, was against him. Maybe a bit out there, but if you can dish it out, you should be able to take it

They weren't until he "decided" to run an hour-long prime time infomercial for himself. Then his little "unveiling" with him and Wade and Bosh. When it penetrated his thick skull that people thought he was a twat for doing those things, he got defensive and bitchy.

So yeah, if he wanted to go for the siege mentality, then fine, (God knows United fans have seen how that can be turned to success,) but he lacks the mental toughness to do that. Forever a petulant little man-child, "King James" doesn't understand why the little people the world over don't love him, and he takes swipes at the fans who pay him his millions of dollars, as if the sport couldn't easily live without him.

Seriously, feck the whiner.

Miami is all fuss and no substance

the opposite is valid for the Mavs

great win
