Nba 2007-2008

Oh and Boston took game 1 by a comfy margin today. Garnett absolutely killed Rasheed and Rondo was very good defensively on Billups.

i'm glad we're facing the spurs rather than hornets. we can match the spurs and play the half-court game. i wouldn't be sure about handling the coast to coast style cp3 and hornets play

We match up much better to the hornets than the spurs. It will be a tough series against SA. Gasol will need to dominate the paint and odom needs to get his mid-range game working for us to stand a chance. Kobe wont have to win games by himself and watch out for Fish to play more superb D on Parker.

feck off you gooner. Lakers and Boston in the Finals which LA will win in 7.

Attended Arizona State with several thousand refugees from LA back in the 70's--so I learned to really hate the team that deserted Minneapolis but kept the name. Any similarity between Laker fans and the human race was merely coincidental.
As far a Boston goes--I don't like any sports teams from that cesspool of humanity.

Brilliant comeback by LA. Spurs were up by 20 at one point. Duncan caused huge problems for Gasol. We might need to start the double team from the getgo if Pau's D doesn't improve.

Most pro clubs retained the same nickname in those eras. The Cincinnati Royals changed their name to the Kings when they moved to Kansas City but retained the name when they relocated to Sacramento. The Jazz kept their name when moving from New Olreans to Utah (what the feck does Jazz have to do with Utah?). Look at MLB in the 20th century for the most part. Athletics, Dodgers, Giants, Braves, etc. NFL as well. Can't fault the club for taking the Lakers nickname too - it's the owners/buyer's business and he owns the naming rights. Personally I think Stars would have fit better for Los Angeles, being Hollywood afterall.

You forgot that the Rochester Royals retained the name when they moved to Cincinnati.

On the other hand, when the Winnepeg Jets and Quebec Nordiques committed the capital offense of moving from Canada, they thoughtfully changed their names, as did baseball's Seattle Pilots. Meanwhile, the Kansas City Scouts went through several aliases before settling on New Jersey Devils.

LA really should be the "Coke-snorting Plastics" if they want to fit into the locale.

Celtics suffer a home loss... finally. They are going to have to step up in Detroit now. Not sure i can see it happening.

I'm glad the celtics got beat last night. like them at the start of the season with the trade and that but have been getting sick of them since theyve started bottling it in the playoffs.

after a great season and one of the best in years i hope it doesnt end up with the spurs and pistons in the finals. that would be a nightmare. would love a celtics-lakers finals but dunno if i can see it happening.

Well this series is over. No way the Pistons are coming back from that.

C's in 5.

No way do the Lakers come close to them without big Bynum.

Like knocking off Phoenix or Spurs, ey?

Let me get this straight... the same team that couldn't take out Atlanta or Cleveland in less than 7 games and probably facing a long series vs Detroit will knock off the best club in the West in fewer games?

Righto.

Didn't see the last Celtic win coming. Would be tough for Pistons now.
Winner of Lakers-Spurs gonna win in 5 in the finals. Neither Pistons or Celtic gotta chance of winning.

Celtics will be extremely tough if LA make it to the finals. Bad loss today. Nobody apart from Kobe stepped up.

Anyone watching the game?

Lakers off to a solid start, if they win this all they have to do is take it back to LA and win. No surprise really though, is it?

Guys in America... are the playoffs on some kind of special channel or pay per view or something over there???

My reliable regular season streams have been unexistent in the playoffs :(

All are on TNT, ESPN(2 for the earlier rounds), or ABC

Lakers won't win in Boston... end of.

heheh...really desperate.

Pistons stand a better chance of upsetting Lakers than Celtic. Unless KG finally shows that he has the Jordan gear to step up to, they have not got a chance in hell.

Boston doesn't stand a chance in hell against LA???

I hope that was a joke.

Lakers in the finals, overcame a pretty big deficit to be fair. Boston better get it done now.
