due to a buyback clause we will get the option to match that bid. Not so sure we will tbh
How many fullbacks have gone through their hands in the last few years?Expect a massive bid for a Full back in the next few days, who everyone will hype up only for them to completely disappear 2 weeks into the season
Not bad for a first post, would have been half the price of Harry but is definitely not half the player. Maybe he wouldn’t have given us the leadership that Harry offers which has played a part in getting 3rd place.Nathan Ake is playing very well for borenmouth, left footed centre half who is composed on the ball and always looks to pass the ball forward. Now aged 23 he has a good amount of premier league experience and should be attainable.
What's that livewire wing back/ winger called that Brighton signed from you? I reckon he might be another one you know.Kinda annoying to see another player we lot go move to a top side.
2018/19 with Fred, Dalot and Grant done before 4th July.
Our business in 2015/16 was done quickly too (Schneiderlin, Darmian Depay, Schweinsteiger), bar Martial but that one had to wait as Monaco refused to sell until they lost the qualification for the CL.

Freds done alright but the guy was like £50-55m. If we got him for £25m then sure. But at that price to be a squad player is a perfect example of a bad transfer. With hindsight, the Martial and Fred transfers aside, those are two terrible transfer windows. Out of those signings, the one that disappoints me the most is Depay as I was certain he would be a great player for us. Darmian looked promising at first, too.
Fair enough, it's a tricky one. You could argue that modern consumerism means we all deal in dirty money to a certain degree, but Saudia Arabia's human rights record is too much for me. I don't think I could ever really enjoy the football properly knowing what was driving it.Might stop supporting them Not sure I could ever do that mate.. Once a red always a red.
Mate, he is 100% correct.Such a profound opinion but have to disagree, Ed Woodward is a shitehouse when it comes to negotiations and transfers. City have had ONE bad year and their getting business done early. Torres and Ake are solid deals. But don’t worry, Ed and the club board are also responding with ““, so you have a lot in common with incompetent Ed.
I'm not sure why most people are saying he is overpriced when we spent £30m on Eric Bailly!
I'm really disappointed that we didn't sign him, not because I think he is world class but he would provide an excellent foil to Maguire in that he is left footed and pacey which I would say are two of the main attributes we should be looking at for a partner to Harry.
Sometimes being ignorant is bliss, suppose you could argue that in my case. I'm just fed up of the noisy fecking neighbors going for players that we were looking at first. Pep has a uncanny nack of improving them. Testament to how good he is I suppose, it hurt saying that.Fair enough, it's a tricky one. He's a back up for Laporte anyway surely? can't see them playing together.
DOF or no DOF, its not the reason City can "get things done" in a jiffy where we "dilly dally"Yes city have a bottomless pit of cash but they also have a real DOF that seems to understand the basics of transfer business. You can get deals done early, negotiate before the season ends and work on multiple deals if you have someone in charge that actually understands football from the sporting side. It’s not just that they got Ake, it’s how quickly they moved on addressing needs after having ONE bad season. Sancho admittedly is a more complex deal however, getting a CB is not. If we have a long list of targets and a vast scouting network then why not work on getting those deals completed while simultaneously working on Sancho. Ake for £40 million is a no brainer, a simple deal with a relegated club yet we’ll probably hear that we were too late in registering our interest.
I really don't get it with Ake. Doesn't seem like he'd improve City at all defensively.

Lamptey
That's the guy, cheers. Yeah, shame you couldn't pacify him with some minutes. He looks a real prospect.Tariq Lamptey. We actually wanted to keep him but his contract was coming up and the player rejected our offer (didn't want to be 3rd choice behind Reece James and Azpi).
But yeah, I'd be surprised if he does not end up at a bigger club than Brighton eventually.
Yeah not like us... oh waitCity don't half piss money down the drain on average CBs.
You mean Garcia will be second choice? Stones will be sold
Garcia will be a RCB back-up, however Barca really want him back and he's got contract only until 2021.If they an find a buyer. I just say I don’t think Garcia looked great either. Not seen enough to make a fair judgement though I guess.
