Nathan Ake (Close to signing for Man City, £40m fee)

I'm very glad that is the model they run and that United have important academy graduates in every successful campaign as opposed to hoardes of expensive purchases.

Without a doubt, despite me having absolutely no part in developing the likes of Rashford to watch him come through the ranks and achieve great things is much more gratifying.

I think City and Utd have both spent a lot of dud signings but yeah, it does seem that City can then just pay more money to replace those until they get it right (Bravo, Mangala, Danilo, , Boateng, Savic, Nastasic, Angelino, Mendy, etc..)

We can't really do that and we end up stuck with those players for a while.

Your starting lineup against Leicester cost £430million and you had another £140million on the bench on top of that. Your squad is hardly inexpensive itself.
I'm not disputing that, and again that's where I go back to my point that city and pep fans get defensive on this. .. I'd love if we could spend another 50m to get a better version of Fred who could pass, or another 40m for another cb, or another 50m to get a ball playing awb on top of what we have

I wouldn't complain at all esp if we had pep in charge of doing that
.
Edit: saw your next post regarding ake and kinda acknowledging it so fair play

Haha great comedy comments - I love the nonsense, keep it up.

It’s got absolutely nothing to do with Stones being resurgent or otherwise.
Ake’s a left sided defender who’s been out injured for most of the season and Stones is a right sided centre back.
Of the 10 games that Ake’s been fit to play in he’s played in 5, which is very good going for a player in his first season at City.
You must watch awful comedies.

He's been a crock for you and when he is fit he will barely feature, just like most of us said when you went for him, because it was obvious.

They also tend to move those players on quite quickly though. Do they get good fees for them?
I always think we hold onto players too long and dont get good sales, with the exception being Lukaku.

You do realise the bolded part can also make someone a bad buy. You just drop it in like you're talking about a bad game but he's missed almost his entire first season, that's mad.

He has been out injured / only available for 10 games and has played in 5 of those in his first season at a club where the complexity of game play mean that many players take a season to settle in.

You can yeah but yeah but all you like but it’s a fact.

What part of that don’t you understand?

I understood it perfectly mate that's why I said it's mad he's missed almost his entire first season with injury.
