What? McGrath was 185 cm tall (I'm not doing these pesky inches). Not quite Mertesacker but certainly tall enough?
Martin Buchan and Willie Miller
You might be right on that. I never saw them play together and just assumed they were different eras. Buchan, Clark and Harper were my Aberdeen heroes and I was a Unted fan so pretty thrilled when Buchan went to Utd.Weren't they contemporaries at Pittodrie? I remember when Martin Buchan signed and his debut at Tottenham. He was the only player with a short back and sides on the pitch.
So Ive had a look at this and you are right they were at Aberdeen together very briefly but I cant find any record of them playing together. Willie Miller went on loan during the year both players were at the club. There is still a chance they did play together at Aberdeen but I cant at this point find it.Weren't they contemporaries at Pittodrie? I remember when Martin Buchan signed and his debut at Tottenham. Ferdinand Stam would have been cheating.Ferdinand - Stam
Robson - Carrick
Edit: Blanc - Stam would have been fantastic as well.
This thread has given me mad flashbacks to the mid-90s Reebok advert:
Plus in a similar way the 2006 Carlsberg advert - quite poignant given those now gone...
Cazorla and Odegaard would be amazing
Alexis Sanchez in that invincibles team next to Henry would have been a little demon.
In place of who though, Bergkamp or Pires? Or play him right side instead of Freddie?
Pires or Ljungberg.
You are right they were together in Scholes debut season. My bad, it was 30 years ago (wow).
I’d also be interested in a hypothetical duo of Keane and Pogba… most likely it would’ve ended up in a complete disaster (like 90% chance) but on the off chance of Keane actually being able to discipline him… and Pogba worked very well with Kanté for France, even though they’ve had Matuidi on the left helping them out.
I guessing that they never shared the pitch (I can’t remember at all), but they were both at the club in the 2016-17 season. I’m assuming that you mean peak Rooney rather than the geriatric Rooney that was around then.Ruud + RVP
Zlatan + Cavani
Rooney + Zlatan
Dong + Butt
Cantona + Zlatan
Saha + Martial
What are you smoking?!Paul Lambert and Thomas Butler
Manuel Benson and Ryan Hedges
Leandro Bacuna and Jean Philippe Mateta
You’re right, I forgot about that season. Silly of me too because I think one of the matches they played together was when Rooney broke the all time United scoring record with that nasty free kick against Stroke/Southampton. And I believe Zlatan scored the goal before that.I guessing that they never shared the pitch (I can’t remember at all), but they were both at the club in the 2016-17 season. Rio already had back issues, not sure if carrying additional 90 kg for 90 minutes would help the matter.Ferdinand - Maguire
Considering that Neville made his debut in 1992 and Kanchelskis left the club in 1995, they probably did play together at one point.Cantona - RVN
Ferdinand - Stam
Keane - Bruno
Rooney - Cole
Beckham - RVP
Ferdinand - Pallister
Berbatov - RVN
Shaw - Giggs
Vidic - Martinez
Neville - Kanchelskis

I was about to insult you for being old enough to have seen Brian Stein play and then I realised that I saw him play.
Mark > Brian though.
Man I could of swore he retired in like 2014Yes, Jose's first season.
