Mykhaylo Mudryk

Could get better but so far a 100m bullet dodged thanks to Boehly and his private jet

He may come good, but currently he looks very raw and very overpriced. He passing, dribbling and crossing all looks very average. He looks explosive, but if they will be playing against teams who are defending with 10 man and deep line, his pace will not be of much use.

He will however look good in Champions league if Chelsea play against any top side, with his off the ball runs, he will get them up the field and be a good weapon on the counter.

Overall for 100M you would expect a lot more polished player.

if only one of their expensive signings is going to flop, it's going to be him. Raw and unpolished player who got overhyped to no ends, going from Ukraine to the PL in the middle of the season ... to a club that has signed about 74 new players in a short period of time. That's not a recipe for success.

Arsenal would have been a much better landing spot for him IMO.

He outran Milner so immediately became a future ballon dor winner…. I’ve seen referees outrunning Milner.

Can't beliee you guys missed a trick... almost blew your next seasons budget on the new Walcott

He nearly had a lovely assist if Havertz could one day stay onside.

I actually think he would have suited Arsenal and been a decent buy for them. Given he was twerking so much for Arsenal, im surprised he just picked anybody (unless Chelsea was his only choice to come to England). Or the wages were just too good to turn down (but from what he was on, anything would have been a huge boost)

Yeah, people went crazy over him after his cameo against Liverpool. Might get better with a more consistent team and obviously needs time (as it is a change going into a different league half way through and into an inconsistent team).

I do think Shaktar must have been pinching themselves when they asked Chelsea/Arsenal for 100m and they actually went and paid it.

I was a bit annoyed that Potter took off Mudryk and Cucurella at the same time. Would have liked to see Mudryk play with Chilwell for a bit. But I understand limiting his minutes since these are his first games since November.

Agreed, Cucurella needs some time on the bench. If Chilwell cant play 90 we also have Lewis Hall.

The top sides won't give him acres of space to run either

True - but with an even average left back perhaps he'll actually get passed the ball

I’m not a chelsea fan and even that triggered me if it’s that the thing cucurella kept on doing the whole match. Somebody please slap the hughwizzy looking shithead.

Cucurella is well capable of attacking & forward passes. Looks more like Potter's tactics to retain ball & play via the center (Enzo who recorded 96 passes, twice as much as Fred/Sabitzer in the Leeds game if I see right). If the instruction to him is "don't lose the ball", there's not much he can do (it's evidenced when he lifts his head up to see where Mudryk is, then takes the safe route).

Agreed. This looks totally as an instruction from the manager. I remember the first game(s) under Tuchel where he wasn't that one dimensional. Bit crazy imagining having Brighton's former POTY and also his former manager all the while Cucurella looks like he totally forgot how to play football.

Yep he definitely is.

He was never a show stopper, but I can't help but get the feel Chelsea are wasting him. Sort of reminds me of Luke Shaw under Mourinho/LVG. Won't be surprised if City make a cheeky 20m bid for him next season and he suddenly morphs into prime Roberto Carlos after that.

Same for me. He had a bad start with the price tag he got, guess the pre season for Chelsea wasn't that great in general as well, then playing alongside a newly brought in Koulibaly who wasn't providing the rock solid defensive cover (at all). Then there goes the manager and by now he must have lost a good chunk of self esteem. Think he will come good once the dusk settled at Chelsea (if it does) - will get played a lot less of course once Chilwell is truly back.

But back to Mudryk I guess.

Few weeks ago, without going into details, Potter also pointed out Cucurella's been having some 'family issues' that have affected his form:

“I think it’s been a challenge for him [Cucurella]," Potter said in a press conference. "He’s had some things off the pitch as well, family-wise there have been some things that have been difficult for hm. So there are many factors. Sometimes people just see the guy on the pitch and they have a verdict for him. But there are all sorts of things going on in his life. I know Marc well and I know Marc at his best. He is a top player.”

Players aren't robots and if something's bothering them off-the pitch it can very easily translate into their game too. Fan abuse and media criticism will only make things worse. Hopefully with Chilwell now back in the mix Cucurella can have a spell out of the spotlight and sort out whatever issues he needs to sort out in hopes of getting his groove back.

Did I just see him casually jog back for the Dortmund goal instead of sprinting to help Fernandez?

It's early to call it but not a great start for him. Besides his speed he hasn't really shown anything.

Yep he definitely is.

I could find better highlights of Jesse Lingard, and I'm not talking about his dancing. Cucurella is easily one of the worst players in the "top 6", he is a Championship level player at best and that's on a good day.

Mudryk looks like a waste of space at the moment.

Badiashile looks alright, while Enzo Amore and Joao Felix are doing their best but still floundering.

I thought he did ok. First time playing with Chilwell and also coming into a disrupted squad with a new manager at the helm ain't the best circumstances to hit the ground running. He seems to me like a Werner type with more technical abilities but less of a direct goal threat - since Werner didn't convert most of his chances that's not a big downside so far. If he can stretch the play like Timo while also pass/cross much better he should be good for them. Not talking about the fee of course - that's just nuts.

The latest offensive purchase that is working towards the coveted 007 status (0 goals, 0 assists in first 7 games). Gakpo missed out by one game, because his namesake Coady left him with a 1-yard tap-in.

Will Mudryk make it?

I think you're an over dramatic poster and I see no sense in engaging with you further when you're calling someone a waste of space after 3 games.

Good player. But overrated. He has incredible speed. But average technique (not bad, but neither very good). Not worth the price.
