A large number of people have always been into 'Nazi stuff'. The only difference was you couldn't admit it so brazenly and openly without being outcasted by Western liberal society. Musk has essentially turned Twitter into a safe space for them (and an army of bots).
I read a theory recently (might have been on here) that the whole Nazi salute thing was him testing the waters to get a reaction and that reaction from normal, decent human beings was extremely tepid after a few outrage articles in the news. There doesn't look to have been a mass migration from Twitter or many people in the media saying feck this guy. It's business as usual for everyone.

Basically everybody here in Germany I know now totally abhors him mostly because of his salute (and in equal parts about openly embracing the extreme right wing party). They won‘t go onto the streets to demonstrate against him (yet) but won‘t consider ever buying a Tesla anymore either.

Dude I have a Model 3 I purchased in 2020. I'd love to trade it in because of Elon being a Nazi cnut, but I also have a mortgage, bills, 2 young kids and can't afford the $30k hit I'll take from the drop in value especially with how the economy is going to turn with America threatening tariffs on us Canadians.
