Toni Kroos sat behind Phil Neville!

He still has that cheery tone about his voice, even after a result like that. There's no pressure at all on him, so I suppose it's what you expect.

I dont know lads. Players let him down, but his constant negative and sad attitude (aspiring to play the level of city???) is draining me, let alone the players. At 2-0 down, moyes was sat on the bench for ages, Pellagrini out delegating the work in contrast.

He needs to sort this shit out. Stop apologising to the fans, stop the excuses, and just organise the fecking team. To leave yaya and silva both free and unmarked is frankily laughable. Not once did we try cut them at the source, which was yaya and silva.

Shut your gob moyes, and set us up properly on the pitch. If you want to aspire us to play like level of City, you have to realise you have already brought us down about 5 pegs. Disaster.

Lets not forget that most of the players were shit tonight... again..!

The list of sub-average players we had on show was disturbing. Moyes tried to change things up with subs & formations, but when you're shit - you're gonna be shit no matter where you play.

City are miles ahead of us under Pellegrini, that must be taken into consideration aswell. They've taken apart teams all season & even beat Bayern in their own backyard too. They're a joy to watch if you're a neutral, but non-United fans are never neutral when we play against other teams.

I really dont know what to think about Moyes. I sway from - he has to go, to wait til he gets rid of the shite we have & get the top-class players in. Head's done in some times, but at the age that i am - i've been through the rough times & i'm grateful for that in a weird kinda way!

I dont have a feckin clue what to think anymore about Moyes, but i do know one thing for certain - if a new manager comes in, he'll clear so many of the players out asap. Its a feckin Derby - you dont need your manager to get yourself up for that shit. feckin disgrace!

You know what, what he said is actually a little worse than talked about here..

"It's the sort of standard and level we need to try and aspire ourselves to get to this moment in time."

Try. Fecking try.

And he was talking about City. (@ 1:23)

He might be worse at speaking than he is at managing United. It's close.

I said I wouldn't have minded losing the game if we gave a good account of ourselves but that was pretty much back to square one, without over analysing it, the lack of attacking threat, attempts on goal, it's unfathomable for a United team at OT. There just does not seem to be any progress in ideas. The players that are there could unquestionably have their strengths used to get better results, surely demechelis was there to be exploited by pace, the only thing, at this exhaustive point that I can think of is that Moyes is brazenly putting out a system with ideals that in his eyes needs different players knowingly at the expense of current results, but what players he does keep next season will be used to it, that is probably the last shred I can throw the guy, but even taking that generous view there should be some evidence that it is "nearly" working, or "just needs tweaking", there is nothing, all I can see is repetitive aimlessness in attack coupled with poor defensive decisions that no amount of new players will alter significantly, honestly it is starting to look like, if he bit the bullet and accepted his limitations to hands on progress a club of this size, his most telling additions in the Summer might not be players but innovative and progressive coaching staff.

Already happened I'm afraid. Pointing out they're stealing a wage is a betrayal apparently - their past success clears them of any responsibility in the present.

When the players are awful occasionally, that's down to them. When they're all awful all the time, it's down to the manager.

He's a complete clown, get him out now!!! Why is he still in charge? This is MUFC and we are 7th, been there pretty much all season and about to be out of all cups as well as no CL for next year. WTF. The football is boring as well.

Just sack him already!!

So what happens when they're unable to make a 5 yard pass or misjudge the flight of a cross or don't follow their man under Manager X? Do we continue to sack and hire until we find a manager under whom Valencia can cross a ball or Cleverley isn't a spineless coward?

Thats the feckin players fault not gettin in their faces. Jesus Christ - the players are gettin of scott-free once again.. Regardless of that - Toure & Silva are 2 of the best players in the world - who do we have that can counter-act those two players?

Folk need to get a grip & stop blaming Moyes for everything. Everyone seemed to agree that our line-up was sweet. I didnt, Cleverly shouldnt even be in the squad, nevermind starting ffs.

It was cocks out here earlier when it was confirmed we were gonna play a 4-3-3. Didnt work out eh, because the players arent feckin up to it - end of!

We need a whole new top-class back 4 & atleast 3 top-class central-midfielders to even compete next season, nevermind win the league again..

If Moyes had of said that about Bayern (the "aspiring to" line), folk wouldnt have been so fecked off. But to say that about City, is just feckin stupid & wrong. We dont aspire to be like City. feck them. They've bought a style of play - United have inherited the same swaggering way for decades (bar this season & a couple before).

Tonight told us one thing though - Rooney is Mr Manchester United now. He bust his ass all night. I feel sorry for the walls in his house tonight..

Yeah, I wish we had the players Everton had (even after buying their best player), and I wish Moyes had the time Martinez had to build his "own squad".

Mata was Chelsea's best player for two years. We were ecstatic when we got him. What impact is he making? Just another great player we turned into sh*t, just like the other champions we already have.

Stop blaming all the players!

It's not about individual mistakes or performances. It's about a seemingly unending string of awful performances from the entire team. If we play a team in the top half, we will be poor. That's a given. There's a good chance we'll be terrible against bad teams too. Whether it's the result of his poor tactics, his training methods, or his seemingly poor motivational skills, I don't know, but it's his job to get them playing well. Thus far, he has failed spectacularly.

Last season, the team was more than the sum of its parts. Under Moyes, this team has been less than the sum of its parts. Everton have strengthened, partly by replacing the loofa we bought with a decent footballer, and look at their position.

Do you want the Europe league next season though?

If not, whats your problem then!

Same batch of players minus Mata, Fellaini and Januzaj did pretty well last year don't you think?

United this year is doing its best to have the worst season in 20 years. And if those players you claim are shite, let's not forget that we had a team full of Djemba Djembas, Klebersons, Bellions, Millers at some point and never had a freefal like that.

United is doing disastrous this season falling from 1st to 7th.

Everton this year have 57 points from 30 games, last year 63 points from 38 games.
They are also 6 points off top 4 with game in hand.

One of the teams got Moyes and the other got rid of Moyes.

Oh as a manager I'd kill for someone of his abilities, I meant that your, ah, reservations would now no longer hold me back from wanting him here ahead of Moyes.

I'm nearly sure that Moyes maintained at Everton that the day he lost the support would be the day he stepped down.

Well, Dave, what do you say?

Moyes didnt deal with the situation at all to be fair. Not once did we get tight on these players. You can blame the players to a certain extent, but we were clearly not instructed to do it either. Either that or the players aren't listening to him.

They ate not getting it scott free, I clearly stated they are also below par. One step forward, 14 back.

Stop blaming all the players!

Wise up. Mata had a very mediocre first half of the season with Chelsea!

"Stop blaming the players.." - Seriously??

Look at Rooney covering every grade of grass again. Do you think Moyes tells him to do that? No he feckin doesnt. He takes control of the situation & attempts to make things happen. You're telling me the rest of players couldnt encompass that same attitude because Moyes told them not to?

Catch a grip & stop lettin the players off the hook again & again.. Moyes is part of the problem, but the players are equally to blame too!

Did you think Mata was mediocre when we bought him?! Really? You're now just talking bullsh*t to be honest with you.

Oh and if a manager can't control the players, then I don't think the solution is replacing the players, especially when the example you mentioned was the one Moyes offered crazy money just to keep!

So wrong on many levels. I would love to say why, but I feel it has been said a lot in this thread the reason why, and I'm too fuming to give a levelheaded response. But yeah, not true.

I think you need to get real. Nigh on every player thread in the United forum is full of negativity barring De Gea, Januzaj and at times Rooney.

You can sprint around all you want but if you're completely clueless when you get the ball, you're never going to score. I don't think we'll ever score another goal at Old Trafford unless Moyes gets his finger out and appoints some progressive coaches, because him and Phil Neville couldn't arrange a piss up in a brewery.

At what point does their get out of jail free card run out? Start of next season? Month no. 8 of the new manager?
We can't replace the whole team. If only one player is playing badly it's ok to make him the victim and single him out. But it's not like that. Do you think that the whole team has the sudden urge to cross the ball from deep and from the wings? To bring the ball always to the wings?

Players are lacking motivation, are not doing their job, then whose job it is to change that? Isn't this part of the managers job?

Fact is these players are not worse than Evertons, yet United is level below Everton this season. They are not worse than Spurs team as well, yet again - level below. When even Tim Sherwood is doing better job than Moyes then it should be enough to ring a bell.

What else possible reason is there for a whole team to crash and burn in space of several months besides the manager? We should keep Moyes, ok. Then what? Replace the whole squad? Then if that doesn't work? Replace it again? Spend 300m to expect different outcome?

Getting rid of our squad and keeping Moyes seem's a solid, logical plan of action, can't fault it to be honest.

Europa League? WTF. We were PL chmapions and in the CL for this year, that's the problem. Moyes is a joke, get him out now. sooner the better.
Funny thing is we are pretty far away from Europa league football, and would be out of it if not for Spurs' incompetence
5 points away from a Europa league place currently.

At what point does their get out of jail free card run out? Start of next season? Month no. 8 of the new manager?
If the new manager is any good (I am talking about any progressive modern continental manager) then immediately after he is on charge. However with Moyes (or if the new manager is Allardyce, Pulis etc) never.

The majority of them not being as good as some thought in the first place? Age? Injuries?
So last year they were good enough this year they suddenly are not?

Age for Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, RvP ok, but also DDG, Rafael, Jones, Evans, Smalling, Hernandez, Kagawa, Welbeck are more experienced and entering their prime.

Injuries? Like we didn't have every year in the last 20 years?

60m spent, to assess squad weaknesses.

Fabio loaned out with the clear mind we don't have a cover for Evra?

So last year they were good enough this year they suddenly are not?
Bar 6-7 players I don't think the squad contributed that massively to the league win.

Age for Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Carrick, RvP ok, but also DDG, Rafael, Jones, Evans, Smalling, Hernandez, Kagawa, Welbeck are more experienced and entering their prime.
In your age section you've listed half our central defensive options and half of our left back options, our only decent central midfielder and the guy who's goals won the title last season. They're pretty big shoes to fill.

At what point does their get out of jail free card run out? Start of next season? Month no. 8 of the new manager?

Totally agree man!

The players are as much to blame as Moyes. End of!

The next manager's gonna come in & with the same team - they'll still be shite against a top-class Pool, City & Chelsea team - who are all miles ahead of us. Their teams have gelled from progression over a couple of seasons. Our team is aging & on a downward spiral..

Most of them have won the lot, massive dosh in the bank & couldnt give a shit.. lettin Moyes take all the flack. They wont say it verbally, but its feckin obvious that they're not playin for him & most importantly the club.

Players still playin for the the club: Rooney's doin it, Fletch is doin it, Giggsy's doin it, DDG is doin it, Evra is doin it - thats feckin it!

Remembering back to the start of the season when Kenwright was talking about hiring Martinez, he mentioned that Martinez had said "we will get into the champions league". I chuckled, thinking it being a naive bit of enthusiasm. I'm now jealous of Everton's manager. Literally the first time I've ever thought that.

Then again, he also said Leighton Baines is not just a player, but an icon, so I don't really know what to think.

And you complain about aging?

So we get rid of Januzaj, Mata, Van Persie, Smalling, Evans, Jones, Rafael, ...

You're insane.
