So, all bets are now being taken.

My call is... Ever Banega.

Previous interest in him before, and would fit into our midfield nicely.

What say thee caf?

Gundogan and Lewandowski.

Moyes giving no fecks and silencing everyone from the get go.

I think this summers targets are already nailed on, probably have been since January or so. No doubt he will have final say on the player but we probably already know who's on the way.

Martin Tyler said yesterday in an interview, something to the effect of "If you're surprised by Sir Alex's retirement, be prepared to have your eyebrows raised even further in the coming days".

Probably a reference to Rooney

Let's just say that a massive signing on the heels of the Moyes announcement would instantly soothe the anxieties of the part of the fan base who are uncomfortable with him.

None for a while seeing as he doesn't start for nearly 2 months. Interested in how he approaches it though.

I don't think it'll be a marquee signing at all. I think it's going to be the equivalent of when we signed Valencia after selling Ronaldo.

Everyone expected the bank to be broken for some mega star and instead we bought sensibly.

Moyes isn't going to be a muppets wet dream that's for sure.

Moutinho, Matic or Gaitan. Can't imagine all the scouting we've supposedly done in Portugal is to no avail.

A big name to stop the doom-mongering would be handy right now.

How do you know that? He was limited with a budget for 10+ years at Everton. I think we can only make an educated guess what his plans are.

I think his first signing will be someone from Everton, Fellaini or Baines perhaps.

I wonder how much of it is down to Moyes? Will he choose whoever the hell he wants or will he pick from players our scouting team have been monitoring for a while? I was under the impression that we tend to have targets in mind for areas we need to strengthen for a while in advance, so will Moyes just follow the lead of whatever we were already planning?

It'll be a big signing. I'm thinking Adebayo Akinfenwa or Victor Anichebe.

I think we'll get a marquee signing though.

Who is 'we'? The manager would have had ideas about who he felt he wants, but that manager is no longer the manager.
