Mourinho to get rid of six players

Real Madrid transfers rarely make sense. They always seem to offload good players after a year or two for no apparent reason and then spend a fortune replacing them. Sneijder and Robben being prime examples of this.

They are a strange club. Sneijder left and won the CL with Inter, then Robben could do the same this season with Bayern. They seem star struck and just want the latest big name.

How is it possible this thread has reached page 2 without Marcos posting about Higuain to United?

Busy pulling himself at the thought?

Marcos isnt here right? Ok good, now to my point - Argentinians have never got on well with us at United.

Is Higuain's character the same as Heinze and Tevez? If yes you have a point. If no then he could be worth a punt. Nearly forgot Veron then, how could i forget him.

Higuain would be a wonderful addition for us but do we need a high profile striker RIGHT NOW? IF we get someone like Higuain, it might hinder us getting a playmaker like Hazard because you have to keep one of Higuain/Hazard on the bench because Rooney will start. Although I won't complain if we get both of them.

Higuain is supposed to be Chelski's number one target this summer.

Does that mean its the end of Drogba at the Bridge? Torres is finally hitting some form too.

Higuain would be great to have but he'd want to start most games, with Rooney a sure starter already, we'l find it tough to give hernandez games if we sign Higuain.

Really don't see the point in getting rid of Higuain from Madrid's point of view. Mourinho has already shown that the 3 (Ronaldo, Benz, and Higs) can all play together. Secondly, if Benz was to be injured or lacking form, Higuain is more than capable of leading the line. Doesn't make sense.

I suppose the same argument can be made for Kaka/Ozil.

I just think that Madrid fans expect a big name signing every year. They like Real to flex their muscles. They may go for Van Persie or Aguerro that would make Higuain expendable.

I think he would be ok with a rotation policy, its just Madrid dont seem to use rotation thus he gets frusterated.

Okay with rotation, yes, hence no problem with 3rd choice welbeck. Hernandez being 4th choice will struggle to get good games with 3 quality strikers in the squad i reckon.

Unless Higuain wants to be an automatic starter at a lesser club, I can't see why he would and why Mourinho would want him to leave. The fact is, Higuain has played in alot of games for Madrid and done very well scoring over 20 goals this season. I think we'd be doing Mourinho a disservice by suggesting that he's one of those muppet managers who would just buy any world class player without thinking about how it will affect the team. Case in point, you didn't see him jumping for joy when Chelsea signed Shevchenko, even though Shevchenko was one of the best strikers in the world at that time.

Feels like 2009 (?) when Madrid were trying to offload a bucket load of players at the end of the season, including the likes of Sneijder, Robben et van der Vaart, if I remember correctly.

My thoughts exactly. And all three proved to be good enough. VDV has been the weakest, but even then, he has helped transform Spurs.

I'd take a few off their bench. No shame in taking scraps.

real madrid is run by Saul Goodman, i swear, its his money laundering number 1 deluxe package. Hank is sniffing around tho. :D

on a real note players that are not the best in the world for their position or have similar calibre players to deal with are stupid to go there, even Ronnie would probably want to come back if he wasn't sold for Ridiculous amount and wages, as he is not adored by fans like he was here.

Falcao. Would suit them so much better, could turn out better than Drogba because he's only just turned 26.

Absolute beast in the air, if they insist on playing their 4-3-3 then he'd be a perfect fit for that formation. Better than Higuain for sure.

Can't see Granero getting sold, seems happy coming on from the bench and he's actually a good player, plus he can play a variety of positions. They're gonna make such a loss on Kaka if he gets sold, if they get even close to £20m then they'd be extremely lucky.

Think jojojo nailed it about Mourinho/Madrid wanting to keep Higuaín but not being able to give him the first team guarantees he needs. Unless he had a knock I don't know about, I'd say him not even figuring from the bench yesterday means he's almost definitely off. I still can't get my head around him not starting against Barça when others could have done with a rest.

Higuaín would be a fantastic signing for any top team - I think there's still as much a place for natural finishers like him as there are for players like Benzema or Rooney who make everyone around them look better. Higuaín in front of Rooney could be something else...but I'd personally much rather we stick with Welbeck and divert the funds to central midfield as others have said.

It doesn't have to be a lesser club. It's arguable that he could be a Barca plan B (though he might get benched a lot there as well), and I do think he'd be a good match for Chelsea.

For those who like to read the transfer runes in trophy celebrations, Higuain was wearing a Real Madrid shirt signed by all his teammates yesterday. Some of the messages sounding suspiciously like goodbye, "Thank you for all you gave us," and, "My house is your house." PSG is still the one people are betting on, but Madrid aren't planning to let him go cheaply.

Higuain at United would be the second coming of Ruud van Nistelroy. He'd fit very well into the squad. It would kill Hernandez' future though.

Can't see him going Barca. And if he does go Chelsea, what about Torres?

They wouldn't sell us a virus.

Bet you a pound to a pinch of shit we don't get any of them. We could have done with Sneijder, VDV etc in 2009 but failed to try and sign them

We don't need another high profile striker. I would prefer us to sign a midfielder.

Do you think Kaka could still cut the mustard in england? I have a feeling he probably could, if he was available for around £20m or less then i would say definitely.

You want to pay £20m for someone who is injury prone and almost 30 years old?

So, the story so far

Gago - he's still hoping Roma (his loan club) will sign him for about 5m
Kaka - PSG are supposed to have offered 20m, and I'm sure Madrid would take it, if Kaka's willing to play along.
Lass - lots of possible destinations being mentioned including clubs like Spurs and Liverpool.
Altintop - Galatasaray are interested, but Madrid have allegedly opened discussions at 10m :D
Carvalho is going to be released and is talking to clubs in Kuwait, Qatar etc and maybe Oporto too.
Adam - the reserve goalkeeper will leave to get more playing time

Sahin has apparently told Madrid that he wants to stay so he's unlikely to be sold, a loan deal remains a possibility though.

Higuain has apparently told Madrid that he wants to play more and get paid more - Juventus have been the most active so far - but I'd guess others are waiting for Higuain/Madrid to do a deal about whether he stays/goes first.
