Mourinho Presser

Luke, Rojo and Young are on tour, but are not training with the squad. Just so they feel part of things rather than being on their own in Manchester.

All three of Shaw, Young and Rojo have travelled. Shaw and Young are training away from the squad, whereas I think Rojo might still be a bit away. Young and Shaw should be back in about a month.

Ah right, makes sense, I just thought when I saw saw Shaw's name he must be ahead of schedule, I hadn't noticed Young and Rojo were on as well.

Yeah, technically. But Martial played only the Burnley away game as a striker. Dont think the boss trusts him enough.
No, he also played as striker against Wigan (h), Arsenal (a), Tottenham (a), besides substituting Rashford also as striker in Celta de Vigo (a) and Ajax. I'd say he trusts him a bit or, at least, almost as Rashford, much less than Lukaku.

We created a lot of chances. More than Chelsea did. Yet our goals scored is less than Chelsea. That's got nothing to do with full backs but our forwards
That's not wrong. We already have a more reliable flat track bully goal scorer to put those chances in. This forward needs a slightly different kind of supply since his overall style is different than Zlatan. Then even Chelsea shouldn't expect to replicate last season, they would look to improve. We should look to be much improved than last season than just putting those wasted chances in.

The mentality of only try to fix the past seasons problem is not the champion mentality. The champion mentality should be maximize your best potential, even if it's overkill vs your competition (in the league). For example, L'pool & Tottenham... fan often talk about how they improve form previous season, but in the end they're still behind the champions whoever those are. Champion team doesn't like to see somebody back so they aim to do the best in their possibility. Both our wing is upgradeable with left wing being more urgent with wrong kind of dynamic compare to right wing with a player (Valencia) did well to maintain width.

Not really. Lots of very easy chances.

Actually no. We had sitters that unbelievably we didn't score from. We had the highest number of 'clear chances missed' stat too. Around 50 I think.

I remember thinking the same when we were topping the chances created league under Dalglish.

Hindsight kicked in soon enough under Rodgers once we actually started scoring goals. The quality of chances created, and most especially the time and space our players had to put those chances away were just worlds apart.

Lots of the misses were also exacerbated from the negative spiral of not being able to convert our chances, but clinicalness was not the real issue.

Don't know much about Liverpool under Dalglish vs Rodgers. But all I know is that the chances we missed last season were often very easy chances by anyone's standards. This is just on the evidence of my own eyes having watched us playing for almost 30 years. We had the occasional frustrating game under Fergie, missing easy chances, particularly in the earlier years. But last season was something else.

Am I the only one excited about Mitchelle? I think he is ready and I think he's a really talented attacking LB player. If Jose shares my opinion, then we have enough cover for that position. Darmien, Blind and the kid.

Guy has a talent, but he seems a bit too fragile to me - a bit like a falling leaf. He needs to put some mass I think.

I thought so too and that would be ideal. Jose sure doesnt want to rush things. If we can get fabinho than he can fill in at least 2 positions and he is very young. Him and maybe one more winger or a wing back. I sure think jose will play a 3-5-2 alot this time besides his usual formations.
