Martial at wingback would be horrendous.Unless we're changing shape and playing wing backs, which would mean Martial could do a job there along with Darmian and Blind.
What I was thinking, seems like Jose was talking about a number of players collectively, so hopefully the papers are right.Pretty sure Shaw is coming back sooner. Just two days ago there was news in every newspaper that he might be fit for season opener.
Yep, hard to believe we're not in for some cover. Although I hear Varela is back ?
He has not gone on tour, so it seems so.He's done here and has been for some time I think.

He has left him behind, if he were still in his plans you would think he'd be on tour.Thought his loan in Germany was done. Isn't he still under contract ?

He's training isn't he? Can't say I've seen him in drills but he can't be that far off.Had no idea Shaw's injury was so serious. There's the real reason we've kept him then.
I don't mind Ibra for the rest of the season, not sure past that tbh.No chance we'll carry on pursuing Morata now, especially if Jose wants Ibra to play for us again. I wouldn't bother trying to talk with Real again.
I am not a fan of Jose's insistence on only 4 signings per summer. When you look at the likes of City who don't restrict themselves to such numbers, it is really annoying. We need a new LB, a CDM and a winger, and that's not even factoring in the reality of our attack still being lightweight even with the addition of another winger.
Hopefully not.No new LB because we're going to 3-5-2 maybe?
Also explains the possibility of giving Ibrahimovic a new contract as both would be guaranteed starters.
So essentially, we definitely want at least one player (and it sounds like Matic) and we *hope* to sign at least one other, probably a winger.
Underwhelming.
Then people wonder why City look so disjointed at times. Signing a sensible amount of players is a good way to ensure steady integration into the squad. I always thought 6 players under van Gaal was way too much, under Fergie it was usually 3 each summer.
Just because Lukaku doesn't score doesn't mean he didn't help in creating space and affecting the tactics of our play. He will offer multiple things for us because of his pace and presence and movement upfrontMourinho's comments confirm the basis of my worries regarding Lukaku.
In the games in which Lukaku (due to solid defending or just having a bad day) failsto get on the end of moves and/or score, does he not then become a liability if he can not offer anything else.
You're speaking way too much sense. The obsession with signings and more signings on this place has become unbearable. It's as though every position is independent of the rest of the team in the way it functions meanings that every bad performance or not even that, a not impressive one means that position needs an "upgrade".Then people wonder why City look so disjointed at times. If we signed Kroos and Sanchez rather than Perisic and Matic, - nobody would be complaining we only signed 4 players.. You get my point. We are without the following through either injury or transfer (Ibra, Shaw, Rojo, Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger,Depay,Januzaj,Rooney) potentially in ( Lukaku, Lindelof, Matic, Persic) arguably we aren't even after improving..You're speaking way too much sense. Tweets like that one from Alex Shaw earlier reflect this opinion more widely in football. People see the only way to improve a team these days is to buy players. When actually, it is very uncertain whether they will work out and improving what you already have is a lot worthwhile. If we got Martial's confidence back next season it would be more valuable than 90% of feasible signings we could make. If we got Baily fit for every game it would be better than any centre-back signing out there. You're speaking way too much sense. We have Blind tooSo Zlatan staying is mostly confirmed. This will be huge when he comes back in December. We'll have two proper strikers + Rashford which should help with the busy schedule at that time.
I'm thinking the two positions he referred to are the winger(Perisic) and dm(matic?). I'm sure Shaw will return earlier. Surely we'd be in for a LB if he was out till next year?
If we go into the season with Darmian as the only LB, we'll have a hard time. Although Jose could have Mitchell in mind. Be interesting who will start there in the first game in August.
We better sign a fecking left-back. Going into the season with only Darmian and Blind as options would be absolutely terrible.
