I just hope whoever made the decision not to sign Caicedo for £5 million or whatever is - isn't at the club anymore. I don't care who the guilty person was, he just shouldn't be anywhere near a footballclub.

Wasn’t it just a ridiculously murky and muddy situation? Brighton were already under the table with the people involved.

For Chelsea, it's always this. Offering £115M now would honestly be more embarrassing than if we just briefed we're walking away last night after being gazumped, even if we end up with Caicedo. This is crazy.

It wouldn't be embarrassing, it just shows how badly you want the player which should mean a lot for the player too.

Does apply to every other clubs not named Brighton?

If we signed him he would have left us by now

I will be properly upset if we somehow fail to close this deal now.

So you think Mount was bought to sit on the bench to be Eriksen backup?

My word the doom and glooming on here because another club did something is annoying.
Mount signing is not enough. Injury to Casemiro and we are done.

He's a united fan isn't he?

Probably hates the Scouse just like we do.

He must be praying for Chelsea to come back in for him

What kind of madman would choose chelsea over liverpool?

Would be pretty funny if they didn't get him after Klopp having to backtrack on the Pogba comments.

Panic is entertaining, even if it clouds the memory. Nothing in January pointed towards Liverpool ‘hi-jacking’ a United move on Gakpo. Rather, United not valuing according to Gakpo to what PSV wanted. United will not be relying on Eriksen this season. Casemiro and Mount will be first pick and we will have Eriksen and likely Amrabat as back ups.

What some people fail to acknowledge, is that building a new team for a manager is very different to rebuilding under an old manager. Klopp has already built a successful team (spending loads and taking time), he only needs to replace one or two per season, and can sell players coming from success - this allows for being more choosy and spending more per player, and leaving fewer holes. Ten Hag hd ten positions to improve coming to a non-successful team, you can’t spend 110m for one player then without leaving huge gaps in the team.

Rebuilding a team is much more than buing new players, though. Very few managers can do it, even when supported. Players tire of the relation, styles are found out, new solutions don’t work as anticipates. Klopp is one of the best of a generation, so can probably do it, but it’s no sure thing.

United were always going to have to build long and slow after the chaotic Woodward regime. Højlund will probably suit Ten Hagten times better than Galpo would have, but it will take time. Regardless, United were better than Liverpool in all competitions last year.
I'm just disappointed that everyone around us is getting 100 million players and we're letting Kane go to Bayern. Amrabat, Pavard and Ferguson would be great before the end of the transfer window. Could our hesitation in getting another striker in, being the comeback of Greenwood?

Everyone together now:

CHAW-SEA CHAW-SEA CHAW-SEA

Once Reds. Forever Blues. And the blue gets darker by the season. ;)

Must be Moises girlfriend giving Sky (Dharmesh Seth ) these up to the minute updates.

I know this is an often quoted phrase, but is there not someone at Villarreal or Marseille or Stuttgart who can do what Caicedo or Rice or Paqueta can do?

These guys arent unique players. It’s not like a Messi or Ronaldo or Neymar or Modric who are one of a kind players. These guys are good, yeah, but what they offer isn’t anything special. The amount of money it costs to buy players in the PL these days is insane.

Tbh Boehly does seem like the type of guy not willing to accept defeat and left with egg on his face.

Imagine breaking the British transfer record and the player doesn't fancy joining you

this looked bad last night but this could end up being very funny. There is an air of desperation about Liverpool this summer compared to their usual ice cool dealings of the last few years. If they go back to Southampton now for Lavia expect a higher asking price and maybe even a pissed off Lavia.

I dont' really get the hype, he's ok but stop acting like he is prime Casemiro vtestMatch: ['**/?(*.)+(spec|test).ts']
