MLB 2022

Hal McRae does not like new rule. Hal McRae smash rule like second basemen.

Hal and many others did not give a shit...it made baseball players much more aware and just the physicality. This is an extreme and funny example, but turning two at second isn't as exciting anymore.

Jesus Luzardo currently has 7 k's through 3 innings. This young Marlins rotation is going to be ridiculous.

I was just about to wonder if he would get pulled and low an behold it looks like he was. Good call by Robets.
He was just on 80 pitches. I’d have let him start the 8th.

That said, I am a Rays fan, our starting pitchers are yanked after 15 tosses.

That’s madness by Dave Roberts

I disagree. Kershaw is coming back from an injury, has a long record of injuries, is not a young 35, is in just his first start, and only threw 7 inning in spring training

Another great performance by Webb so far. I was hopeful the second half/playoffs last year were not a fluke and so far he is still looking like a bona fide ace/CY candidate. I love home grown players, especially pitchers!

Ryan was a machine.

I like those Giants unis with the bridge.

The bridge for the city and the fog for Candlestick. Going from likely the worst to best stadium in baseball. Certainly the best smelling stadium (hmmmmmm Garlic fries)

Damn you, I am trying to not eat past 800P. Now I have to after remembering how good Candlestick smelled.

If I remind you how bad a Cracker Barrel is capable of smelling (but not the rare good one, there are a few) will that counteract it?

Really good article in the Athletic on this and as a Giants fan I completely agree with Kappler.
Giants’ Alyssa Nakken makes history; Antoan Richardson says ejection followed comments with ‘undertones of racism’ – The Athletic

The unwritten rules of baseball are stupid and should go away.

I always find the culture in the US of not running up the score and things like that slightly odd. These are pro sportsmen not kids.

I like baseball but when you see pitchers throw 90mph balls directly at batters because they took offence at a batter flipping a bat in celebration they look like children.

Plus wasn’t there 3 innings left when this bunt happened? Stranger things have happened than conceding some runs from there

What a time to be a Giants fan. Everyone writing last season off as a massive fluke and predicting a huge drop off. Something can "off" all right. Fantastic pitching, clutch hitting, and Belt in MVP mode means we are on track for another fantastic season*!

*I am fully aware we are 9 games in and things can go absolutely tits up, but let me have my joy. Thank you.

Looking forward to the NorCal SoCal series again. May the best team win!

We’re planning on going to the third game of the Washington series this weekend. Should be a beautiful day too!

First two pitches shown - 101 mph.

Hope he can get across the big pond like Ohtani before his arm is shredded. Japanese team (historically) are notorious for overworking young pitchers. It's basically the NCAA* but professional.

*As an aside, what college coaches do to young arms is criminal. Kumar Rocker should have sued the shit out of Vandy and he is just the most recently in a long line of guys whose careers have been negatively impacted by NCAA coaching. My two biggest grips with amateur baseball are that and little league kids throwing sliders/curveballs. Disgusting.

Webb vs. Soto should be a fun matchup. I love watching Soto hit, but with that Nat's team he might get 200 walks this season.
