Miscellaneous Reserve/Youth News

Larnell is quite inconsistent and unlucky with injuries as well.I didn't rate him as high as Lingard because of his inconsistency.A (more extreme) version of Lingard in the academy currently would be Ollie Rathbone.

I had forgotten about his injuries, but he was still quite a talented player.

He had a knack of scoring goals in big games, i think consistency would have come as he matured.

Jonk is a discilple of Cruyff, I don't see him and van Gaal hitting it off.
Van gaal loves his "professionalists". There are many friends of van gaal at ajax. I dont know if we sign him or not but dont think anyone would say no for the reason you say.

Other topic but is Demetri Mitchell still one a lot of people think he can make the breaktrough and what is with Varela after his loan at Madrid?

I thought Nicky Butt was going to made the head of youth development? Are we still looking for a replacement for Brian McClair?

He's someone that would perfect fit LVG's need for pacey winger (not saying he's ready though) but unfortunately has been injured for most of last season and so far this season.

Not sure if mentioned but Wim Jonk has apparently quit as the Head of Youth Development at Ajax - http://www.football-oranje.com/jonk-quits-as-head-of-ajax-youth-development/

Know we've been linked with him before, maybe a couple of months ago and he would obviously know LvG well.

Now that is a signing that would get me excited. We need a new head of Academy and one of such high standing would be perfect. Hopefully someone like this with a long term vision comes in whether that be Wim Jonk, Nicky Butt or whoever. Its needs sorting but it's not a decision club want to rush it seems. Hope they get it right.

any streams for U18 game? i cant find anything on few sites that i use :o

edit: nevermind, found one

Catching up with the U18s match.Thought we played well in the first half.Kehinde did well in his unfamiliar role (winger but more of a free role).Rashford looks dangerous.First time watching Hamilton in central midfield and it's clear that he's a CM.Lovely goal from him.

Yeah, Hamilton caught the one eye I kept on the game. Is there a youtube of his performance?

Oh, right. Cheers.

Do they have any other games in December other than the rescheduled Boro one?

Tyler Reid out for a month again with the same injury (groin).A big blow ahead of the UEFA Youth League clashes and FA Youth Cup tie.

U18's line up v Derby: Dorrington, Warren, Hamilton, Williams, J Dunne, Whelan, Boonen, Kehinde, Dearnley, Gribbin, Gomes.

big blow, one of the better players in both teams.....

I remember when Fulham initially signed him, he was mentioned during a game we played against Fulham by commentators because they had the Belgian Moussa Dembele playing for them at the time.

Nice to see get to train with the first team so soon. Even though all of them are mostly there to make up the numbers in practice games.

No carrick, bastian, herrera in training. One of them will most likely be a substitute.

All of them played yesterday for the reserves except Regan Poole. I dont think Poole will make the bench though. James Weir might have best shot then

Poole can't make the bench - his international clearance has still not come through so he is still not 'officially' a United player. He can train and play in friendlies, but nothing competitive.
