Miscellaneous Reserve/Youth News

Interesting team selection. I wonder if Fletcher, Fitzgerald and a few others would have played in the u21 game had it not been postponed.

Twitter saying we've a 13yr old on bench.

Kingdon equalizes. Ball bobbling around after the corner, falls to him and he finishes well.

Yeah, one of the Cameroonian twins. Douka Abdoulaye Nkoto.
Ah, so a "13" year old.

Very youthful bench, and a few of the key attacking options not out there. As Prodigal7 said, I was also wondering if the plan had been to use most of those missing in the postponed U21 game. Double shame, if so, that it was called off as it was on MUTV and it would have been nice to get a look at them at that level.

Do you have proof of your allegations of the age being fraudulent or is it a lazy stereotype?

Is it reported as in controversy?

He's scored a few this season hasn't he? Be nice to have a defender who chips in with a few goals every season. Probably Smalling the last one really? And before that Evra and Vidic maybe?

Real tricky area the age fraud issue as it’s well documented that age fraud does go on in some African countries as Eto’o himself tried to combat it in international team selection, but testing is so difficult and clubs have to be seen to not discriminate. One thing is for sure physically they look as developed as most 17 year olds regardless. That lad at Dortmund who was banging in goals at youth level by smashing his way through less developed boys doesn’t seem to have transitioned too well to the men’s game interestingly.

Yep.

Just to be clear, I wasn't saying anything 'for certain' as regards the Cameroonian twins. Or any individual case. I never would given that I have no evidence either way.

Just when there's there's plenty of known examples of a thing occurring and being proven - and, as you say, plenty of people, including Samuel Etoo, have acknowledged it's an issue - then that's when red flags / raised eyebrow / slight doubts, etc, come into play in future situations.

Hence the "13". It didn't mean they definitely aren't. Just that there's room for question marks if they definitely are - given the photographs of them when they signed, reportedly aged 11 (combined with the concern of the number of instances of age fraud amongst Cameroonian youngsters).

You're probably thinking about Jackson. Kingdon hasn't scored much. Everywhere I've seen shows that as his first goal for the u-18s this season. But he did finish it well.

If you’ve seen proof then you’d know their exact age, not 19 or 20

They played in same team in Cameroon as a 20 yesr old who plays elsewhere. Theres pictures at 10 on social media where they look no different to now. Dont get why club are doing it. They are u13 on paper .

Amass misses a golden opportunity to level the game again. Poor lad gutted with himself. Derby still lead 2-1 with 3 minutes to go.

You seem to know your stuff and do your research despite being slaughtered on here for being blue, so you could well be right.

You said this to me in a DM one year ago and didn't provide any evidence of them playing together. I believe you gave the name of Kelvin Pius John and didn't have any evidence of them playing together.

Thwaites equalizes with a left footed curler into the top corner. Nice goal.

Game ends 2-2. Fun game. A bit disappointed to drop points for the first time this season but the lads didn't let their heads drop and did well to earn a draw and keep the unbeaten run.

Everytime I’ve watched this boy he’s been excellent. Definitely one to watch

Relieved that the unbeaten league run hasn't ended. Would have been frustrating as it would have felt a real giveaway with a weakened team and, especially, bench.

I know it's important to integrate the younger players into the level above, but with the U21 game called off a couple of days ago I was surprised to see so many key players missing all at once. Maybe some were all injured? Or maybe they'd already decided that this was going to be a game to promote some U16's and didn't want to change that?

Either way, happy enough with a draw even though it ends the run of league victories.

In the long run a player doesn’t really gain much from playing against younger opponents. The opposite really, the ideal environment for development would be a challenging one.

But still pretty amazing a club of our standing are prepared to play a 13 year old in an u18s game when the player in question comes from the most corupt age fraud nation FIFA have penalised. Given the evidence out there the club must be so naive. AS Nylon had one of the twins and Kelvin Pius John in the same side. He is 21 this year and plays at Genk. Ill send pic to you KM and you can post it.

I think you're right actually, good shout.

Kingdon (and Jackson) also scored last week v Arsenal - but that was in the PL Youth Cup, not the league.

Not sure if he's scored any others this season.

Genuinely why not post it here? If the club are playing 20yr old in u15s then it's a scandal.

Might be the same reason we arent allowed to name players involved in legal scandals as the site can get in trouble

20 years old in U14 game would score 5 goals per game easily. Also medical department now is capable to test players and figure out age without any problems.

Kingdon has 2 goals this season - as you mentioned. Jackson has scored 4 goals - 2 goals vs Boro on the opening day - the goal against City (which in fairness should have been considered an owngoal but who cares) and as you said - Arsenal
