Mengi 2002, Mejbri Apr 2003, Sotona Dec 2002, Elanga 2002, and kids signed last season playing in similar position Hoogewerf Feb 2003, Emeran 2002, Mejia Mar 2003. Even Hugill kid we just signed is 2003, and there will be probably more additions for 2003.
Looks like Sotona is good kid, and with kids you never know when they will step up. Look at Ramazani for example, you could not predict he will have great season after not that great last year. But similar to Ramazani, it will be difficult to see him getting chance above players like Chong and Gomes.
Sotona is in similar position like for example McCann, Helm, Wellens, Fish...I think they are second level above those mentioned above. At least at this moment. Are you too young for senior football at 18? I guess not in some leagues, depending on body size. You are definitely too young for top level football, for club like United, unless you are not top talent like Rashford, or Rooney. Coaches and manager will see that in training, they probably have regular games and training with first team. You never know if someone will blossom at once. From my point of view for most of the kids in this age, moving them to some affiliate club where you can control their playing time and training process, would be win win situation for both them and club. Like having club in Portugal, adding a few older players for experience in positions you don't have talents and adding 5-6 your own players like some of those mentioned above, would be beneficial. They would be able to gain experience in competitive matches, their value would rise, and even if they are not good enough for us, you would be able to sell them or loan them for another year to some club level above. Especially in current situation, it would not be a problem to find suitable club for that. Also, you would be able to get South Americans and players for Africa without working permit problems, and test them for a year or two.
