Would you want Miranda here or do you think he's past it? Btw Alderweireld was also immense for Southampton. I particularly remember Koeman singling him out to praise his performances this season. He's another one we could have a look at.

Miranda to leave Atletico Madrid

Brazilian centre-back Miranda will reportedly be allowed to leave Atletico Madrid for a cut-price fee this summer.

During the 2013-14 campaign, Miranda, alongside Diego Godin, formed what was regarded by many as one of the best centre-back partnerships in European football.

However, injuries have harmed the defender this season and it is understood that the emergence of Jose Gimenez has made Miranda surplus to requirements.

According to AS, Atletico will also recall Toby Alderweireld from his loan spell at Southampton, further pushing Miranda down the pecking order.

Manchester United and Manchester City have both previously been linked with the 30-year-old, whose current Atletico deal expires next summer.

Nope wouldn't want him, although I'd take Alderweireld if he was available.

How tempting.

Tall, yes...
Big in the tackle, yes...

Not sure she's cut out for a full 90 minutes though...

I prefer Castolo tbf.

Won't be a long term solution at his age but we'll get him for peanuts and without any resistance. And if he could capture last season's form it'd be a great deal.

I wanted him last year out of desperation. Now i dont want him, far better options out there. He is 30 and had injury problems, stay away.

Last year he looked like a decent option for us, this year we have far better players to choose from.
I think LVG has already secured Hummels.

30 years old, obviously not a long term solution, but he's a very, very good defender.

I came to the thread armed with negative Miranda comments, but after the pro evo nostalgia, I just want to go dig out my ps2

I logged on thinking this was a thread about that rather unfunny woman given a show by the BBC

He's been good in the national team.. I don't watch Atletico enough though.

He would be great playing in the Chelsea defense. Nothing much to do other than defending

I can't see him playing in LVG's style

I prefer paying 40M for Otamendi if we are to buy a Vidic type

Rather sign the man who took his job, Gimenez. Some reports of him having a 19M (pounds) release clause.

Speaks Portuguese and Mourinho would get a safe option if Terry gets hurt (or needs rest) or if Mou loses trust in Cahill again or if Zouma ain't 100% ready. I think this makes a ton of sense for everyone.

I don't know how he's been in Atletico, but he's been a massive upgrade over David Luiz in the NT, who should be banned from our team long ago..
