How tragic a life do you have to lead to come on a forum and post something like this about somebody that's just died.
A man has died & people still can’t get over him saying things they didn’t like about their club although had he still been alive & working on a Haaland transfer to United there’d be crickets. Multiple posters have said nothing but negativity about him yet will rock up in one of his agents threads.
‘Clubs probably hate’ dealing with most agents so not sure where that sits here. Living rent free.

Rip. The best at what he did. People take it personally because him being the best and better than those representing us meant we often lost against him. Instead of hating him, I think people should actually learn from him. As no doubt there are elements of his style of negotiations, not being intimidated by big organisations, believing in yourself and what/who you represent etc, that many could implement in certain aspects of their own lives (maybe a bit toned down)

The man was a jerk and disrespected many people in the game. Yet you get the sense that he was loved by the players he represented. All that said, he has passed and all beefs with him should just be water under the bridge.

I don't really consider the vitriol towards Raiola to be particularly merited. Most of his clients seemed to hold him in extremely high regard, and ultimately that's all that should matter.
Sure, he didn't do all of his agency work out of the kindness of his heart; the man made an absolute killing throughout his career and it's pretty damn obvious that money was at least one of his biggest motivators. At the end of the day, though, he made a lot of that money by essentially taking it from extremely wealthy owners of football clubs in exchange for securing the services of his interested clients. Of all the ways you can make a lot of money, I wouldn't say his was one of the most unethical ones.
I'm sure he was a complete shit to negotiate with, but why should he care for United or any club for that matter? He's not there to make a deal that's in the interest of the clubs, he's there to secure the best deal possible for his client and take as much commission for that as possible.
At the end of the day, most clubs view their players as assets. If they can get the player to accept a contract that's less than their true worth, you'd better fecking bet that they'd do it. Accordingly, I don't see it as being unfair that men like Raiola have their finger on the other end of the scale, trying to add as many dollars as possible on to their clients' contracts. I've no doubt he was probably a bit of a bastard; anyone as successful as he is in the agency business has to be. But for me, he was ultimately an extremely intelligent man who got extremely rich people to take money out of their pockets in order to make other extremely rich people richer, whilst also making himself extremely rich.

Unless he has a protege or his company has some up and comers, all the talent he'd normally sweep up will be going with the likes of Mendes and others who will sweep up. When a powerful <anything> dies, there's a scramble for the pie they've left behind, and without their respect/fear/control, things can actually descend into chaos, so the agent market could become very intriguing now. If you're into that sort of thing.
This just means he was a very good agent. His role isn't to give a shit about clubs and their interests, his role is to get his clients the best deal possible.
Not everyone can get the worlds best players to sign with them, he could. So he gets to gain from being able to achieve this and negotiate on their behalf. Skill is really irrelevant. If the parties agree to pay that fee, so be it.

In terms of developing his clients careers I wouldn't call a success what has been going on with Pogba but he's not the sole responsible for that, maybe it's their clients who are more interested in going where they get paid more. Lastly it's also something that has been facilitated by Manchester United so like I said you can't only blame the agents for what has been going with football in general and the insane contracts.

I know this may not have been directed at me but I have made a somewhat positive post about Raiola so I think it's worth mentioning that I do not consider myself a "fan" of his. I just also didn't really dislike the guy. I just saw him as a guy who was good at what he did, basically.

i don’t really disagree with anything that you said…. The amount he took out of deals or demanded (if rumours are to be believed was extortionate ) was entirely his business to line his own pockets…. However the clubs are totally to blame for given in to his commands.
And yes he was very good at his job.
He was a mega agent. The center of transfer rumors for the past half a decade. He would decide futures of key players. He was an agent GOAT and it's admirable how far up the ladder he climbed.
