One of my dream signings for the summer. He's a brilliant player and if we don't snap him up soon we'll watch him go to City, Chelsea or Arsenal in the future and regret not going for him.

I can see Arsenal going for him given his preferred position. I think depending on what happens at Liverpool, they could be in for him.

I don't know what your FFP situation is, what your transfer budget is and what positions you want to spend that money on improving.

I'd imagine you need to sort out what is happening with Sancho, Antony and maybe even Greenwood before you spend what is probably a large % of your transfer budget on Olise.
100% I completely agree. We definitely have positions where the starting and covering players are of lower quality - My rationale is even with our worst ever finish, if you look at the stats of the PL, our issue even with our defensive injury crisis was goals scored, not conceded which leads me to believe we do lack creativity up top and it could actually be equally as big an issue.

They probably have some reasonable approximation as to what would happen with these guys. Sancho (30m), Greenwood (40m), Antony (stays). Don't have to actually sort out the situation 100% before going in for Olise.

Still better than being at Palace though.

Congratulations on that but it's not really the point is it?

As for Sancho, wages way too high for us even if heavily subsidised (and doubt he'd want to come anyway).

Greenwood absolutely no way on Earth, would be a PR disaster.

Don't see AWB happening either, we play a back 3 with wing-backs under Glasner so there's no obvious position for him. Think we're also about to sign Ben Johnson on a free from West Ham as LWB/RWB cover.

Glasner may work wonders for Sancho and relaunch his career with England.
.

Their wage bill caps at 110k a week, so highly unlikely he'd ever join them. Lord knows how he got the deal he did at United, just ridiculous whoever gave into that salary increasing his wages 5 fold...

Olise could also potentially play for Algeria or Nigeria.
Kid IS 50% Nigerian but opting to play for France. Anyway Saka and Eze are 100% from Nigerian parents so cant blame the kid really. Have nothing against the kids playing for their country of birth but it would have been great if they opted to play for Nigeria

Does he really have a release clause that's reasonable? If so, then every top club in the league will put in an offer. Arsenal need a right winger/forward. City need a right sided forward bc mahrez is gone and Bernardo has flirted with leaving each season. Pool have to be looking to replace Salah. United obviously need one too. Newcastle probably want to upgrade on jacob murphy as well.

Be interesting to see what happens

How isn't it, why would anyone be 'batshit crazy' to move to a much bigger club, for more money, with the potential to compete for the top trophies in the game?

At least Olise has proven it in this league.
This is the key for me and his game is a bit more varied which adds to his ability to be a success here.

The fact that he’s a tall lad, can take set pieces, shots outside the box and is a really good long passer means he has more tools than Sancho to fall back on.

As talented as Sancho is, his game is limited to dribbling, short passing moves and side foot finishes. We don’t play that way and his physicality affected him so much. Olise in about two years will be a unit and can impose his game on PL defenders more.

Being in the top 5 young players in the world and one of the best players in Germany for consecutive years at the time probably did that. Our fans expect everyone to be on 50k at United or something.

Can he actually find a striker with a cross, that’s the question, if so he probably trumps everyone else on our books

Sounds to me like you want him at Chelsea. I don't blame you, he's class

Oh I’ve got no doubt whatsoever he’ll do that. He can take his pick of clubs to do it with though so other than some tenuous ‘supported Utd as a kid’ rumours, why on Earth would he choose Utd over the others?

For the same reasons countless other players have joined Utd in the last 10 years despite us being shite.

One thing I see as a huge positive is he seems to have that top level technical ability and awareness that pretty much all city and madrid players have. Its hard to describe but you just know it when you see it. Players like rashford for example might have some other real strengths but they amount to little without that extra quality

If we want him, its on Ineos to convince him that joining us would be a worthwhile move, as we aren't attractive without CL. They'll really be tested this window in terms of their ability to convince talent to buy into their plan

Not at all what I said. Double or triple his wage, not an issue, giving him 350k a week is obscene, should only be a proven world class player getting that.

He makes 200k basic I believe, which is very reasonable for what he was when he joined. Haaland I’m sure also left Dortmund and received more than the standard 15% pay increase. These things are not generic, players are not paid based upon their existing salary. Players are paid what their market rate is. Sancho was one of the best players on the market, and he was not the rookie you are making out either, he was 23 or something with full seasons in a top league and CL and international experience.

Would love us to sign him. Has a Sadio Mane style feel about it - was gutted when he went to the Scouse.

I'd like us to sign him, we do need something different up front but CB and CM are bigger priorities for me.

The problem is they're expensive with the amount of money the clubs have but it wouldn't be the worst idea to start signing more proven Premier League players, most sides have players with qualities we desperately need more of which is why they often outplay us.

He's a Chelsea academy product and a Hammersmith lad. I deffo want him back.
The club seems intent on buying every young “wonderkid” winger out there. And we already have so many options in the attacking midfield area.

I think the absolute last position we need to be throwing around £60m+ is Olise. Plus, he seems very similar stylistically to Palmer.

Palace for one more year and then the perfect move is better than being stuck in salford gormenghast
He's a London boy & I'm guessing staying in London is preferable to moving to Manchester. I think he will see what Oliver Glasner can do before moving on.

He’s also a massive United fan too and talk of release clauses or price tags on Palace’s side for Olise and Eze suggest they want to cash in on one of them, Olise just fits everything that Ineos appear to want which is young and hungry hard working players with potential to get even better.

Glasner's preferred 3421 system should be great for Sancho, so that's definitely possible. The transfer might be extremely unlikely to happen, but if it does, I can see it being a success, simply because that's a system in which Sancho can operate in the half spaces and has movement around him, so that his excellent short passing in tight spaces is valuable.

Yeah I definitely see some benefits there with glasner if Sancho and Palace were open to it

Really not sure about this guy. We don't need another sick note.
