Must be my imagination

Sod it killing them is the bestvway forward!
I actually fulton most of the guards I subdue - easier than worrying about them waking up!

Then I just check at the end of the mission for any troublemakers, and dismiss them if I find them.

Are you sure n choke vs tranq?

I could swear it seems that when I choke someone out after questioning them, they always wake up quite soon and feck me over?

This is the section from the guide:

On mission 24 now. Finding things a bit repetitive to be honest. I'm still making things fun by trying new weapons and devices, but I'd prefer some more variation. Every once in awhile I'll get some variety, but on average it's usually rescue a prisoner or eliminate a threat.

Like @swooshboy, I've got the official strategy guide collector's edition lying around so yes, I know it for a fact. :) If your style is pretty slow paced, you're better off fultoning or killing. No type of non-lethal neutralization will keep enemies out long enough to go through missions or even side ops unless you go for speed.

Well spit in my mouth and call me Susan. I better start choking people from now on then.

A good portion of the main missions in chapter two are just repeating older missions at harder difficulty levels. A handful of new main missions are there to play, along with some new, "important" yellowed out side ops. It completely fecks with the story structure and flow and is really disappointing. Whoever thought it was a good idea deserves to be fired.

that is going to be a real pain the missions are hard enough already :(

I read that you don't HAVE to do those repeat missions to finish the game (at least in terms of ending / story).

Sounds good to me, as much as this game is visually brilliant it just seems like such a grind at times when playing from mission to mission

I've paced myself well with this I think. I only do one or two of side-ops and maybe a main mission per day. I'm going for full stealth (until I inevitably feck up) so it's actually quite a mental drain trying to do everything inch perfectly. It'd become a chore if I was to try any more per night I think.

Why do all the guns come not fully loaded? As in, you can always reload one extra bullet into them for some reason at the start of every mission.

I'll spoiler this just to cover my bases...But I have a question.

apparently mission 10 is when you find the prisoner who enables you to fulton vehicles, correct? I must have missed him the first time. I've just finished mission 15 and was wondering If there's another mission with someone with the same skill...or if I can go back and redo mission 10 to find him.

Also, I've never checked my FOB, or even aware if it's up and running....is it likely some bastard is stealing stuff anyway?

Cheers.

I missed him too but got one in another mission later on. Before you start the mission it lets you know which possible specialists you can get in the mission.

Why is it whenever I do really well on a mission it's always one that ends with man on fire or the skulls etc at the end which kill me and I end up with a B rating rather than an S

I have used it a couple of times on some side-ops. It's ok, but if you are going stealthy, then I still prefer the tranq pistol as it feels more controlled. I think the stun sub-machine gun is ok if you want to subdue a group at one time. In saying that, not sure if I have tried going for headshots with it - if it only needs one headshot to knock them out, then it would be ok I guess.

Only other thing to consider is how long the person is out for - I think they are out longer when sleeping, vs knocked out.

One headshot does knock them out. I much prefer it to the pistol personally. It's basically just the pistol with more ammunition and fully automatic. Doesn't keep them out as long but I either fulton them out if they are useful or pop a silenced round into the back of their skull if not. Ruthless.

Good to know - will give it a go this eve.

Haven't played it for a couple of days, turn it on and discover I've lost more or less everything through invasions and now have -GMP.

Thanks FOB shite.

Have you researched security equipment, drones, cameras etc? Either way, it's a load of bollox the way all your resources go straight to your FOB and it costs YOU money when someone decides to attack. The amount I've spent setting up my FOB to be a fortress just so I can stop invasions when I'm not there. It's embarrassing.

Think its ridiculous how you can't opt out of FOB.

You have to build one as part of the missions - but the only way to not have it affect you is to stay offline - but whenever you do finally connect, you will lose the cumulative amount that you have lost all the while you were offline.

Really bad.

Yep it just sucks. I guess I will have to waste time upgrading my security forces just to stop it happening in the meantime, but its put a downer on the game for me.

Game not that good then or?
The actual meat of the game's story which is the whole of chapter one is absolutely brilliant, its the "chapter 2" and the pacing of that and the prologue that let's it down somewhat.

Does anyone know at what point it loads your Ground Zero save? Is it as soon as you start the game or is it gradual or?

Also, everytime someone says FOB, I read "Fall Out Boy"...

So glad I haven't gotten to this stage yet.

I plan on friending every possible person playing this online so they can watch it for me :p

Because you've just loaded 1 into the chamber i assume. Considering the gun was probably empty when its issued to you, when you load a bullet it takes 1 out of the mag. That would explain why you have 1 space ready.

Have to say am not looking forward to the point at which I have to do this.

But still loving the game - have #16 to look forward to later!

Ah. Still a bit weird they can't load on into the chamber for you like any other game.

Just play it offline.

I'm pretty sure i'm one or two missions away from the FOB stuff, I think I'll have a Side Ops night tonight :nervous:

All these guns you fulton seem pointless though as you warp into the base instead of any real assault.

also, please tell me the FOB stuff isn't cross platform between PC and PS4?

Im fairly sure there are a good lot of the PC Brigade that'll be using dirty tricks to just be able to waltz in hit a button and make everyone fall asleep or some bullshit like that.

Yep - and you will be in for a shock when you connect back online in October for MGS Online and find out you have nothing left!!

Ah feck. What if I never connect back online and am not interested in MGS online? Is it still possible I'd lose staff members?
