That’s plainly false, a Messi without goals isn’t 1/10 of the player he is.
Maybe he's just 1/10 of the player he is but that's probably still enough to be the best in the world :P
That’s plainly false, a Messi without goals isn’t 1/10 of the player he is.
Football flat earthers.
Ronaldo has had the kind of performances Messi had yesterday, every single year since 2014, with maybe the exception of 2015.
@Zehner Sorry I don't see how Messi last night was any better than Ronaldo when he scored a hat trick against Atletico to qualify from 0-2 down.
Let alone when Ronaldo scored 10 goals in 5 games against Bayern,Atletico and Juventus in 2017.

I never he said he wouldn't? read what I am saying. He would easily be the best player but his numbers would not be as high as they are in Barca.Come on it’s obvious he would be by far the best player in any league.
I have replied to that post ahead of that and stated which years each player was better in.On Page 419, you said that this is the first year that Leo has been been better since 2014. Look it up.
Ill await your apology.
I had the chance to read ok, but there are always 2 myths to judge Messi. One is to say he hasn’t proved himself moving from Barcelona. The other was a few years ago that he couldn’t do it in England. Guess what he has scored against all the top 6 clubs. Read what I said.I never he said he wouldn't? read what I am saying. Once again doing that in the the top 3 team in the world is not the same as joing a new league new players system more defensive teams etc.I had the chance to read ok, but there are always 2 myths to judge Messi. Fat Ronaldo and the Real Ronaldo are not even in the same sentence and I love fat Ronaldo.Top 5 in no order:
Messi
Maradonna
Pele
Arya
Fat Ronaldo
And what does have to do with the fact he plays better. Or are you trying to say only the players who move to Barcelona can play like that? Just remember Zlatan.Once again doing that in the the top 3 team in the world is not the same as joing a new league new players system more defensive teams etc.
That's exactly it. Ronaldo has been having and has had easily better knockout game performances then the one Messi had yesterday since 2014 and people are losing there minds.@Zehner Sorry I don't see how Messi last night was any better than Ronaldo when he scored a hat trick against Atletico to qualify from 0-2 down.

Also about 2015.
"13/14,15/16,16/17 and 17/18 was the 4 year stretch I was talking about."
"14/15 Ronaldo 61 goals and 21 assists"
"Messi 58 goals 27 assists"
In fact here you go. I remember what I say.
Also the stats from 14/15 is to show that Messi was not "comfortably better" One could argue Ronaldo had a better individual season but I agree 15 was Messi year.
That's exactly it. Ronaldo has been having and has had easily better knockout game performances then the one Messi had yesterday since 2014 and people are losing there minds.
Because he was born and bread in this system since practically berth. When he is out of the same system and style of play for example Argentina he is not the same Messi as in Barca. That does not mean he is bad but he is just not the same as Barca but he is still incredible. I don't understand what is hard to believe in that when its been shown and is a very real possibility. And what does have to do with the fact he plays better. Or are you trying to say only the players who move to Barcelona can play like that? Just remember Zlatan.
Oh Jesus This is why this thread is cancer. "he really hasn't" I can make a list for you. "comfortably" oh jeez.Typical Ronaldo/American attitude, reducing their performances down to stats. Messi was comfortably the best player in the world that season and not just because of he scored and assisted loads.
He really hasn't - he may score 2 or 3 goals like Messi did last night but he doesn't effect the game beyond goals the way Messi does, because he isn't capable of it.
I agree with you on that part, reason why he struggles more for Argentina but the reverse can be said for other players who move to Barcelona.Because he was born and bread in this system since practically berth. When he is out of the same system and style of play for example Argentina he is not the same Messi as in Barca. That does not mean he is bad but he is just not the same as Barca but he is still incredible. I don't understand what is hard to believe in that when its been shown and is a very real possibility.
I can use Zlatan as an example too. Moved to a new league and system that did not suit him. Was he bad? no he still banged in about 30 goals.
Moving to another club and adapting to there style of play to new teammates to new coaches to new tactics leagues circumstances is not easy. Hence why so many players have come against the same problem,
Shevshenko in milan and then Shev in Chelsea. I can go all day with examples.
Once again Messi would still be the best player in the EPL but if you think he would get absurd barca level numbers your insane. There is a reason the highest ever total in England was only 40 something with Ronaldo until salah matched him over 10 years later.
Before people miss read on here because they always do no Salah is not better or the same as Messi or Ronaldo.
Not really. Messi would smash the goal records in england. Heck ronaldo would have had he stayed at united.Because he was born and bread in this system since practically berth. When he is out of the same system and style of play for example Argentina he is not the same Messi as in Barca. That does not mean he is bad but he is just not the same as Barca but he is still incredible. I don't understand what is hard to believe in that when its been shown and is a very real possibility.

Take the stats that favor Ronaldo and ask questions about only those questions.
Well i mean asking questions like whos scored more goals in the Champions League, who has more assists in the Champions league and whos won an international tournament is hardly taking stats that favour Ronaldo.
These are legitimate stats that if we want to compare players should be used in comparison.
Find some stats for me that favour Messi and im all ears.
Ok so we agree he would not be as good away from Barca then (but still the best player in England).I agree with you on that part, reason why he struggles more for Argentina but the reverse can be said for other players who move to Barcelona.

If you don´t see the diference is because, maybe and I don´t mean to be disrespectful at all, football is not your sport.@Zehner Sorry I don't see how Messi last night was any better than Ronaldo when he scored a hat trick against Atletico to qualify from 0-2 down.

Surely we can all agree that Messi at his complete best is better than Ronaldo at his complete best? Messi is a far more gifted player. Ronaldo simply doesn't have the tools Messi does. The reason this is a valid (if tiresome) debate is Ronaldo's consistency and tenacity.
If he played for Guardiola at City I suspect he would be as good.Ok so we agree he would not be as good away from Barca then (but still the best player in England).
Ronaldo was better against Atletico than anything Messi has done so far this season.I'm going for each CL campaign as a whole. Messi wasn't great at OT or Lyon but every other game he has been comfortably the best player on the pitch and games like last night and Lyon at the Nou Camp he played better than Ronaldo has shown in the last few years.
In terms of goals yes but without them, Ronaldo doesn't nearly have the same impact as Messi IMHOThat's exactly it. Ronaldo has been having and has had easily better knockout game performances then the one Messi had yesterday since 2014 and people are losing there minds.
It's not an argument, it's a statement of fact. The fact that you repeat such a desperate and obviously dumb argument again and again is actual proof that the Argentinian is the better player.
Assists were identical. In terms of goals yes but without them, Ronaldo doesn't nearly have the same impact as Messi IMHO
If you're going to make ridiculous claims like this, you may as well stick to the circle jerk that is the Messi thread.Maybe he's just 1/10 of the player he is but that's probably still enough to be the best in the world :P
Seriously?Dribbles completed, chances created, through passes, average number of passes. In fact he is playmaker + Goal scorer for Barca.
Messi started at a much more dominant side than RonaldoIt's silly because Ronaldo has played more games; Messi has a better goal to game ratio in the Champions League, 0.3 worse assist rate in the CL and Ronaldo winning an international trophy in a final he didn't play, in a tournament he was average in isn't a reason to say he is better than Messi.
Here are some stats for you;
Messi has a better goal per game ratio than Ronaldo
Messi has a better assist per game ratio than Ronaldo
Messi has more titles than Ronaldo
None of these above make Messi a better player than Ronaldo
Seriously?
You're going with dribbled completed as one of your choices? vs GOALS scored?
I wonder what the aim of the game is.
Talking about football without goals is like talking about boxing with punches or F1 without driving. In terms of goals yes but without them, Ronaldo doesn't nearly have the same impact as Messi IMHO
Where does dribbles completed define dragging defenders out of positions? It's a team game. It's not like Messi is dribbling in some free space, he drags multiple defenders out of position with his dribbling which create space for others.
It's all of no use though, you have argued against this for 10 years. I'm not arsed to change your opinion which you are stuck with for 10 years. So good day.
Where does dribbles completed define dragging defenders out of positions?
As far as I'm aware, dribbles completed merely measures carrying the ball a certain distance.
