Didnt he just sign a new contract at PSV?Need to sign this guy before the big boys circle.
Didnt he just sign a new contract at PSV?
i thought threads got locked once the immediate future was settled, but probably more at discretion of mods. I haven't heard any news on him moving since the contract thing.Didnt he just sign a new contract at PSV?
Yeah, but that's nit happening innthis window.Yes, means fcuk all though.
Sign him now and leave him on loan.
I feel that if he keeps developping the way he does till now, and stays in PSV this year he could be one of Van Gaals targets next summer along with Reus who will want to move after they fail to win league again and end up in QF in champions league.. We could have than Januzaj, Reus, Depay, diMaria plus welbeck to play out wide. That could be enough to switch to 4-3-3 if we can get quality centremidfielder or two till that time(Strootman, Schneiderlin or whoever availible who fits the philosophy) If anything he could be a decent replacement for Zaha who will have a lot to do this year to prove himself. I think Van Gaal rates him but as we could see he doesnt rate him enough to be his starter. He wouldnt get much playing time anyway if we stick to 3-5-2. I am feeling confident about him. I think if we brought Blind who is two levels worse talent than Depay is, we could see Memphis soon here as well..
Did he play for Holland against Italy last night?
Didn't play.
That's strange given how well he's started the season.
In about 2 years time it's extremely possible that Depay will be better than MuniainWe could do better and buy Muniain. Would prefer him to Depay.

Yup it was a really strange decision by Hiddink to start Jermaine Lens over Depay when the latter has lit up the Eredivisie this season. Maybe he didn't train well enough or picked up a knock in the buildup. Dunno what really went down...
Did he make the bench? I hope it's a Hiddink thing and not an attitude issue, he has so much potential it would be a shame to see it squandered.
Umm as it turns out he was on the bench :
Subs not used: Van Der Wiel, Van Dijk, Verhaegh, Afellay, Fer, Klassen, Depay, Krul, Zoet.
But for some reason Hiddink chose not to use him. And yeah I'm hoping he stays level headed too.
Yep, I think a bit normal for someone who has been a first teamer since 16/17. He has stagnated a bit in the last couple of years. But I really like him, he is technically great and offers pace. But he can improve a lot, however for this to happen I feel he needs to leave Bilbao where he enjoys a god like status. Not easy not to get carried away when you have been breaking many records for your club since 16!He's gone off the boil alot though hasn't he, Muniain?
Do the Dutch have a qualifier on Monday? Hopefully he was just saving him for that, I hate labeling players the new "insert name" but this lad reminds me a bit of Marc Overmars.
They're very different players though. Memphis geniunely has the mould, physique, stature to become a goalscoring threat of winger like Ronaldo or Bale. He's a bit of an animal, and has been destroying the Ererdivisie thus far. He's far more direct, quicker and physically stronger. He'll adapt a lot quicker too. I think he's what we need also, I do not see Muniain as a winger to be honest, rather a floating wide man with a decent level of pace who seeks to move infield. This season in Herrera's absence he will most likely move into a central position, or be more involved centrally, and that's where I see him having his most influence. Depay also has the same level of dedication that Ronaldo did, as some Dutch posters have mentioned, he has his own personal trainer and has been evolving physically and training to be at his physical peak - you know only have to look at a picture from this and compare him to last season to see that.We could do better and buy Muniain. Also, price is a bit of an issue with Muniain. His release clause is now €45m.
He isn't as quick as Depay. No chance.? He is quick, not Ronaldo quick, but not one bit slower than Depay.
He is also playing in a much stronger league. But yeah, Depay could overtake him, especially if Muniain remains in stagnation for a while.
January transfer window.
BTW He really reminds me of Hazard for some reason.
In what ways?
Might just be you. Hazard comes across as an immensely gifted technical player, smaller and much lighter than Depay.1. They're both very good dribblers. Obviously Hazard is a little faster and more refined, but Depay is extremely good too.
2. Both very strong on the ball, not easy to dispossess.
3. Both with a cracking shot from distance.
4. Depay is now strictly playing at the LAM position that Hazard plays for Chelsea.
5. Memphis is a bit taller but they both seem to have very good centers of gravity and balance.
6. Hazard's passing is a bit better but Depay is also improving all the time.
7. It's more stylistic than anything else TBF. Very similar to Hazard of Lille.
Maybe it's just me.
Nah I can see the similarities. Depay's a bit more a goal scorer though isn't he? I can't remember Hazard's tallies at Lille but Depay seems to be more about goals than Hazard
