Very good remark, I think if the money is right, any club can attract any player. It's been shown by Monaco and PSG who were basically nothing and still attracted world class players. It's all about money, it increases the chances to sign top class players by a huge factor.
Dante certainly didn't impress at the World Cup.

Di Maria to Man Utd and Rode to Bayern illustrates the difference in pulling power now.

To be fair, Rode on a free to United would have been an excellent transfer for the club while Di Maria to Bayern for 80m Euro would have been complete nuts.

Not my point really. These comparisons are pointless, we were obviously looking for a left footed center half and Rojo fit the bill. Quite clearly van Gaal rates him highly, he's also considerably younger than Benatia and may well turn out to be a very good signing.

He's a good player from what I've seen. Never meant to ridicule him obviously, Di Maria is far higher profile though. Could well turn out that Rode will be a great buy for Bayern, likewise Rojo for United.
We've had a great transfer window, signing a very promising defender, one of the best young full backs in Europe, Real Madrid's best player from last season, a supremely talented young Spanish midfielder who by most accounts was one of the most in form midfielders in the league for a side that managed a top 4 finish and it looks like we might still add 1 or 2 players before the window shuts. Yet you find yourself complaining that we've ONLY bought Rojo and not Benatia. Perhaps it was decided that he fits us better?
I think it's interesting to consider the players Bayern didn't even go for. It's not like Bayern gets good deals as much as they refuse to even enter a bidding war on what they consider are overpriced players or insane amounts of money if they can get someone slightly less illustrious for half the price. I also think big names wouldn't do well at Bayern. I couldn't even begin to imagine CR7 playing in Munich. That would be a desaster for him.

That's because the team is still lacking in the defensive and midfield department.
We need a defensive midfielder, desperately. Other than that our squad is fine.
