The decision to get rid of Cuomo looming large now. He was constantly #1 and is apparently doing well on his new channel now.

They are left scraping the bottom of the barrel with the likes of Alyson Camerotta, Kaitlan Collins et al.

It was the right call, but the whole lineup there is just stale and boring. Couple that with a noticeable shift, seemingly rightward, in their editorial decisions and it is no wonder they are shedding viewers. We haven’t watched CNN in quite a while.

Cable news as a concept is gradually going the way of the Do Do Bird imo. I would be surprised to see it exist in any meaningful way in 5-10 years from now with so much going to digital.

It’s not even “news” anymore, it’s reality television.

CNN’s Christiane Amanpour says she disagrees with Trump town hall, confronted boss Chris Licht (POLITICO)

In her commencement speech at the School of Journalism at Columbia University (perfect time stamp for her full speech: here), Amanpour spoke about her disagreement with the town hall and the strong discussion she had with Chris Licht. Here is a bit of it:

She dealt with dictators and other wannabe dictators before. I'm pretty sure she would have dropped the mic at "nasty person" if she was the one on stage instead of that lightweight Kaitlan Collins.

How Bartiromo still has a job is beyond me. Here she is at it again, this time egging Gym Jordan on for another Hillary investigation.

Fox appear to have forgotten they have a Dem on their panel, who tends to interject inconvenient truths.

I read Tim Alberta's long article until the end. It seems to me that David Zaslav's vision for CNN is far more of a problem than Chris Licht's hapless implementation.

CNN should pay far more attention to what Christiane Amanpour says.

Indeed. Christiane is one of the very few out there who still carry Ted Turner's original vision for CNN.

This could go in about 8 different threads. But seriously though, good on Becks for learning the language so quickly after moving to the U.S.

Gavin has somehow managed to turn Hannity's interview of him into an interrogation of Hannity.

I know very little about his politics but he seems very polished and surely the leading candidate for 28? Would be refreshing to have someone that isn’t a dinosaur and can actually debate.

Even though I don’t know anything about him, I’m confident in saying that Sleepy Joe should step aside for this guy.

Came here to post just that. Masterclass.
One thing's for sure, he's not gonna get invited again on a Fox show for a long time, this is a prime example of an opinion show host way out of his depth and comfort zone
