Hmm why is that?
Well because Marcus Rashford is better than he was given credit for earlier in this thread. If Mbappé left PSG, Rashford would be the best player to replace him I believe.
I do agree but there is still quite a sizeable disparity between them atm, Rashford will be world class in due time but it can be argued he isn’t even top 3 attackers in the PL as of now.

Not that hard to argue that with Salah, Mané and Aguero also in the league. Add to that Sterling, Kane, Vardy, and Firminho... Rashford is good but not that good. Or maybe he is but he needs to play in a better and more function team to show that he better than those players.

Of attackers in Ligue 1? No way, he doesn't even get in the top 5. Just at PSG, I put Icardi, Mbappe, Neymar, Di Maria above him. I also think Ben Yedder is a better attacker than Rashford at the moment. He would definitely be top 10, which is what he is in the PL this season.
I think Rashford is that good. It’s a shame injury robbed him of the chance to get his 20 league goals this season, which he almost certainly would have.
He’s also been very good for England, and has a determination and single-mindedness to go right to the top. I look at him and Mbappé in terms of their attributes and the gap isn’t that big. The conditions to demonstrate are massively different for club and country though.

See I think you put Rashford in Ligue 1 and he’d out score a lot of them.
Mbappe and Neymar id put ahead of him but the rest I’m not so sure. He’s been great in a creatively lacking United this season.
Well, I'm sure. I would really like to see him in a creative team though, I do think he's done very well with what's been around him. Martial has helped him in that regard as he was seriously struggling when he was out injured.
It is only fair that Woodward will sign Mbappe so Mbappe and Rashford can battle it out. PSG already has Neymar on the left side so Rashford cant go there.

Rashford would be brilliant in the PSG attack. Di Maria has played for United, and was rubbish. He’s not a better forward than Rashford, he’s barely even a forward at all. Ben Yedder? Come off it.
Not really, Rashford would be on the bench to come in the last 25 minutes in that PSG attack, he's not getting in the starting XI without injuries. He's not going to bring more than Di Maria would bring, and he can't match Mbappe or Neymar's output, he also wouldn't touch Icardi who's the point of the spear with the finishing you need from that position. But if you're looking to get rid of him, I guess we can give him a try.

There wasn't a debate then and there's not a debate now. The gap might not be as enormous as it was before but its still massive enough that they shouldn't be compared.
Mbappe has excelled at all levels - League, CL and World Cup. Rashford has done little to nothing in the CL and was horrendous at the world cup. Rashford will be a top player and has had a very good season but there's levels.

I reckon he could match Mbappé and Neymar’s output playing for PSG in that league. But I’m not really a numbers guy and appreciate that doesn’t make him as good as them, but I think he could put up similar numbers.
He's probably the 4th best attacker in the world after Messi, Neymar and Ronaldo.

He most likely wouldn't, players don't score particularly more in Ligue 1, the ones that score on a regular basis do it in all competitions and at international level. And he wouldn't start for PSG, he would start for Marseille though and would probably score between 15 and 20 goals in the league.
Raahfords made it closer than I'd ever imagine it tbh. Mbappe needs to get out of that league (Neymar as well) to truly prove himself though. But at the same time, if he does it in the CL and continues in international competitions then you cant argue it.

Rashford playing in the french league with that PSG team would easily produce the numbers Mbappe is. I think its alot closer than people think.
Well I believe Rashford is a 20+ player in the English league going forward. Which of course is not a 15 goal Marseille player.
Ultimately, I think Mbappe’ is better. Rashford may never even get the platform to make a real conversation of it, but watching both players, I think they are quite similarly gifted in most areas.

How on earth are there people who seriously compare Rashford to Mbappe? The latter is in the very top tier of players in the world. Rashford is half the player.
If that’s the case then you can probably say that about 4 other attackers in this league.

To his credit, he was earning rave reviews before he went to Paris. Although that Monaco team was better than PSG to be fair.
There is no if about the CL, Mbappé currently has a record of 19 goals in 30 games. Those are Romario type of stats.
Technique wise there is no big difference. Infact Rashford might even be more talented than him. The difference is Mbappé's football IQ is very far beyond his years. Basically he rarely makes wrongs decisions and that's what separates him from the other players in his age group.

Mbappe is a better forward but why all of a sudden the underrating of rashford again with weird comments like he would only start for Marseille. Rashford was on course to score 30 plus for us for this United side. Why wouldn't he have scored similar if he were playing in a much inferior league. I bet if he was playing for any other club United fans would have been raving about him. Rashford is a top talent and this season he has shown he can give you goals too.

Mbappe in the PL however is harder to predict as the typical game week in week out is tougher.
You don't know that and it's actually not that obvious. On the other hand you know that Mbappé is exactly the same player in the CL or at International level.
We should be ecstatic if Rashford at his absolute peak is 80% of the player the Frenchman is now. And one needs to take into account the Frenchman hasn't peaked yet. I see Ronaldo (the Brazilian) potential in that guy and its crazy to compare Rashy with him.
