That weak Juve side finished with 95 points.
Weaker than previous seasons due to various reasons and Napoli were ahead at some point. Points tally per season is not an accurate reflection of progress. I assume every United fan can see that under Mourinho as none of us expect to win the league this season.

Even Benitez won a Coppa during his time at Napoli. In any case, there's no doubt that Chelsea and Sarri is an intriguing combo, let's see what happens.

I liked his Napoli, I think he's a good coach, wonder how he does at Chelsea though, it's a specific club.

Didn't take long to see this "he didn't win anything" nonsense.

I understand you have a hard-on for Sarri, but others also like to state facts rather than blindly worshipping him as you do. The world doesn't revolve around your opinions.

If he wins a major trophy with Chelsea, which nobody denied as a distinct possibility, that would be enough to prove he's a better coach than even St Pep as his style is certainly entertaining. Nobody has any unnecessary bias against him. But wait till he does it.

Happy with his apointment, he got a squad on hand that won the league twice + 1 FA cup in 4 years, so i'm sure winning mentality is there.

Sarri doesn't rotate, that's one of his weakness. So doubt he will play many youth players.
Lack of quality on bench, still only Napoli?!

Anybody remember LVG? He also plays beautiful football before he took over us and made it one of the most boring football ever we witnessed especially winter. I'm sure it is going to take years for Sarri to implement his football in Chelsea's style of play.

A Van Gaal side has not played beautiful Football since like 95.

This season should be Jose's last chance. As much as I'd hate to make another managerial change, it's time we move on to a more modern attacking football.
I'll be very disappointed if we don't get someone like Jardim next.

I'm jealous of Chelsea. They've got a good technician. I expect them to do very well.

Exciting times for Chelsea, Sarri had Napoli playing fantastic football and gave the Juve monster it's biggest title challenge in years, it will be interesting to see how he does with more resources at his disposal.

Because he gets a better squad than Napoli and no super-club to cockblock him. His style is great against poorly organized PL teams, that includes City. He will complete the Holy Trinity of Italian coaches winning PL between 2010 and 2020, there is little doubt.
Carlo, Mancini, Ranieri and Conte already won it though. That's four already. Unless your trinity talk flew over my head lol

As an italian football fan i send a warning to Chelsea supporters: be ready to listen at a LOT of excuses during the season.
We just went through a whole season of Conte moaning terribly in every single presser and talking nonsense about the club he was managing. Whatever Sarri's up to can't nearly be that bad.

Strangely enough, the roles fit almost perfectly at the exception of Cesc who doesn't score enough. Which CM could be bought?
We've been heavily linked with Golovin. There's also RLC coming back.

Sarri doesn't rotate, that's one of his weakness. So doubt he will play many youth players.
The Napoli squad wasn't really strong. It's part of the reason why he had to convert Mertens into a CF after an injury to their CF.

When he is in form Cesc is still one of the best creators in the World so out of all the midfielders they have now he would be the best bet for the Hamsik role. But, they have been linked with Russian midfielder Golovin recently.
Cesc is a habitual coaster. I don't think that will work well for him under Sarri's system which requires quite a bit of pressing. We'll see though.

I'm really curious to see how it's going to be, for me it's even more exciting than Guardiola in the PL.

Edit: Do you think Zouma will get a chance over Rudiger?
I think Zouma is done at Chelsea. Just got his shirt number handed to Jorginho too. Considering we're heavily linked with Rugani, that might be the nail in the coffin.

A Chelsea man through and through
Very rich of you to point out, considering at some point you've probably referred to Chelsea fans as "rent boys".

Must be great for Chelsea to finally get an attack minded progressive coach instead of the usual pragmatic approach they have taken under Abramovich. I rate Sarri very highly. Will be interesting to see how he shapes the Chelsea team in his style.
We had Carlo for a bit though (and AVB, tragically). But yes, it's nice to finally see someone like Sarri manage Chelsea. Last season I was done with that defensive approach completely. Conte hit peak bus parking in the City match and it was truly disgusting.

No. It's not that, he doesn't rotate that's always a concern with Sarri. I know he is Chelsea manager and you think you have to defend him from everything, that doesn't mean we have to rewrite anything here.

With Sarri's appointment and also Emery coming in at Arsenal the top 6 will be a festival of high pressing... except us. The fans will lose patience quickly if we don't show signs of adapting to this modern style of football.

Has this guy ever won anything significant? I know today's football fans want to gloat about style and wonderful football, but why at the age of 112 he has no big trophy to show?

He worked as a banker for a long while before becoming a manager full time, spent a lot of time in the lower leagues of Italy and did not manage in Serie A until 2014.

This. Klopp is proof that even if you have a suitable attacking philosophy in place, a trophy winning mentality is difficult to nurture if the manager has bottled a few. Sarri like Poch at Spurs built a great Napoli team with a limited budget, but once you have got where you wanted to be (top of Serie A), you should be able to maintain it. It was a weak Juve last year, even Juve fans were resigned to losing the title till the turn-around.

As an example, there was an Indian King in ancient times who conquered even Singapore and Malaysia. His conquest is spoken of very highly. But later, it was found that a mere 15 days after the conquest, he was defeated by another and lost those lands. Thus, he did 90% of the hard work but failed to go the distance -- solidifying his Empire. Similarly, Poch and Sarri have done the hard work and built a competent team, but whether they take advantage of the hard earned position their teams have attained is moot.

But he could get them Top 4. If we don't sign anyone, I unfortunately see City, Liverpool and Chelsea in the top 3 positions and us scrapping for 4th with Arsenal and Spurs.

Very good point. The main difference I'd say is that as oppose to Spurs or Liverpool, this Chelsea team is filled with multiple league winners so the winning pedigree is well within the dressing room if not on the bench.

Chelsea really don't deserve such a good manager with how they treat their managers and run their club

Totally lucked into Sarri and will probably be rewarded for it because he's such a good coach

Since you can't defend the managers actions you assume I'm also a homophobe? Smooth.

I can categorically state that I've never called and bunch of fans "rent boys".

Uhhh what? Of all the managers Roman has run out of town, he was justified in doing so every time except Jose the first time and Carlo.

Sarri’s appointment, and signings such as Jorginho, worries me. Chelsea will be there or thereabouts for the title this season, IMO.
They are going to sell Cortuois, Kante and Hazard, and swap Morata with Higuain

Sarri is best known for playing slick football not for winning silverware. No hasn't won any significant trophy. Not even when he was managing in the lower leagues.

I am going to bet that Chelsea will play 'good' football but won't win anything next season especially if they lose Hazard.

In my head, this appointment is going to go one of two ways.

He does an Ancelotti/Conte and he wins the league playing football that everyone masturbates too... then falls flat the following season and gets sacked.

Or he goes Scolari and that he plays football that everyone masturbates too... then falls flat at Christmas and gets sacked.

If they end up selling Hazard there is absolutely 0 chance they will win the league.

We're also going to sell our entire backroom staff and auction the stadium at a local pub to whoever can scratch 10 quid together, aren't we? None of those players are leaving this summer. Maybe, just maybe Courtois (and he'll be replaced immediately by Alisson if he leaves) but otherwise, no one else is leaving. Not Hazard, not Kante. We're not actually stupid, you know.

We'll sell Willian though. It's almost certain at this point. Along with maybe Pedro, Cahill, Zappacosta and Drinkwater. Think Zouma will be sold as well if we get Rugani.

Pellegrini won feck all before he went to City, likewise Di Matteo Chelsea.
