I wonder how we are bigger from a Football standpoint, Juventus have won more in Europe and more domestically in a league that is historically strong. We are basically bigger on economic and popularity grounds but not when it comes to the actual game?

We're a bigger football club. Simple as that.

Arsenal are a "bigger club" than Juventus?

Serious question. I wonder how many outside England would actually think that.

I don’t think many would think that. Manchester United is a bigger club than Juventus and the biggest and most famous in the world. In good shape sporting wise, no, but we will get there as well soon enough.

Jaap Stam only spent three years at United...

That's less than I thought, but didn't SAF get rid of him, rather than him wanting to leave.
Although I think SAG later admitted it was a mistake.
Was he caught up in some drugs ban not long after he left?

Probably different circumstances.

I don't think there's many inside of England that think that either.

If we actually manage to fix up in the near future, I wouldn't be surprised to see him come here after Juve.

They have 2 UCL. We have 3. And Yes europa league is shit and nobody cares about it.

Finally this is over and we are left to wonder what might have been if he had a different agent, also if we hadn't totally blew our chance at the top 4.

Now he can use Juve as a stepping stone to United instead of the other way around. Hopefully they feck up the CL group stages and we can watch the chunky beggar trying to chase Dan James around the field in the Europa. If only

Why would you bid for a player if he tells you he's not interested???
The player doesn't tell you that, the agent said he could be interested, and potentially the player didn't respond no, I don't know. What kind of question is that?.

Which club currently has a bigger chance of winning the CL, United or Juventus ?
You created an account just to ask such a meaningless question? United will get back to the top sooner rather than later, and Juventus can try whatever they want, the lack of domestic competition makes them like the Marseille from the 90s. They will win if they fix games. Oh, sounds familiar?

Those days are gone. Juve is like a brand new team. Plus juve never fixed games in a European tournament. What happened in Italy stayed in Italy. Neat and ready to grab the big eared one. Safe

Somehow it's good to know that it's not only us being used as a stepping stone.
Like a lot of other people said, hopefully we'll be at full power in 4-5 years and maybe one day he'll play for us (if he deserves ).

Rabiot - Free
Ramsey - Free
De Ligt - 60 million

Imagine getting those three players, how much of a difference would it make to Top 4 race and closing the gap to City/Liverpool. Possibly a new generational defender like Maldini (or new Sergio Ramos at least) + 2 CMs for new, proper midfield with Pogba instead of the dross he's forced to play with.

That's the true price of failing to qualify for CL - not just the immediate drop in prestige or finances, but the ensuing limitations in transfer market. Instead of getting those three players with plenty of budget left for Sancho, we're expected to pay world class fees for second rate talents like Maguire or Longstaff. If we were in CL, there's no doubt that the likes of De Ligt or Rabiot would rather play for us than for Juventus. It's absolutely essential that we hold on to PP now, because he's one the few decisive factors making 20/21 CL qualification possible. Another year in EL and we're nothing but a more marketable Arsenal, it's not an option.

Juve NEVER fixed games in Italy too, what has been translated in International media as "match fixing" scandal, was never about match fixing, no game was never proven to be fixed and it did not involve just Juve, in any event this would be an OT here and it is better to leave the poster to his bitterness, since his tone is not very friendly and it is better to let him steam off his frustration as unpleasant as it can be

Have you paid attention to us for the past almost decade now? Unless major changes are made, we are going to continue on our current trajectory. It's laughable to suggest we are even close to being as appealing a destination as Juventus right now, let alone being close to even competing with them.

Why on earth would anyone join Juventus and Ronaldo?

That's like, very generic and mainstream.

Marseille also fixed a game against Valenciennes, in their domestic league. They used easy games to try to focus on European games or whatever.

So Calciopoli was never about Moggi calling referees... he escaped jail due to a technicality, it doesn’t make him innocent.

What's with all the opposition fans coming to RedCafe and giving it the big one? It's not United fans that are bitter and going to other club's forums to talk some unnecessary BS.

Italian trio relegated to Serie B. Serie A sidesJuventus, Lazio and Fiorentina have been demoted to the second division for their involvement in Italy's match-fixing scandal.Juventus were also stripped of their last two Serie A titles and had 30 points deducted, meaning they are likely to stay down for two seasons.Jul 14, 2006

Yeah, I think some confuse "biggest football club" with "most successful".

Yes better shape now, but a lot can change in a season and I doubt it would hurt him to play one season in the EL
He made the right choice for himself. We can hope that "next year is our year" like Liverpool of old, but common sense tells us that we're nowhere near challenging for any title anytime soon. I wouldn't be surprised to see us finish outside the top 4 again either, and I bet he thinks the same considering we've spent more years outside the top 4 than in it post Sir Alex.

Not to mention he probably saw how the fans turned on Pogba - our best player - at the end of the season. Who wants to play in an atmosphere like that?

The bribing, doping, and cheating taint Serie A and Juventus. Their historical ‘success’ such as it is is meaningless in that context.
