Juventus surely have to be strong favourites for the CL now considering the business they have done.

I dunno do any of their signings improve them that much? They've done very shrewd business like they always do but I dont see any of them being a game changer for them (hell not even Ronaldo has proved to be a game changer for them)

The dream finally dies :(

The reality is United was never in the race.

Problem for United is the current state it's in. Why would a player like De Ligt choose an uncertain future playing against the odds, against City and L'pool while he has all the options being in one of the top 5 clubs in the world at the moment. Looking at the current United squad with unhappy players like Pogba and Sanchez, whoever on this forum really thinks the top players will come to United this summer is pretty naief.

United has to rebuild en buy wisely these comming seasons.

Unhappy like Sanchez, what the hell, his body is broken down making 350k a week, I would love to move him. Even on a free to get out from under that contract.

If we choose to not pay a dime to that fat cnut I think we did good. That cnut is almost like a criminal.

Also to be in it and fight for the best players show ambition.

Yeah but I don't think that's what's happened. Think we offered the sum Ajax wanted but De Ligt didn't want to join us.

Poor choice if true/done deal. Great team, poor as feck league.

Misplaced argument. It's a good leaque, one of the best in the world.

The EPL isn't such a great example of leaque either with it's patchy club owners consisting Arab slave traders, oligarchs and other money driven scumbags.

Let alone the attendence fees the EPL clubs dare to charge it's fanbase.

Yeah unlike the noble Italian league, led by the honorable Juventus, who are the beacons of fairness or legitimacy in football and finances.

The Italian league is full of owners connected to the mob and also general financial misbehavings. It's also full of crazy ultra-right and ultra-left fan groups who still see football as an act of war and show their bigotry on a daily basis. Also the league is riddled with past and maybe even current match-fixing problems.

The only reason football there is gaining traction again is due to the new lowering of taxes for foreign people and foreign investment, if I understood the new policies correctly.

True.

Owners connected to the mob? such as....?

That would be odd. Why would you even make ajax an offer if the player doesn't want to join you?

Nothing odd, we have been proposed, we bid. Nothing strange in that.

I think Juve is a good move for him tbh. Seems a lot of other major clubs were unconvinced as to whether he deserved the outlay at the moment. Plus, if he does well at Juve, he will get his dream move to Barca (supposed dream move)

Because the rules are you first have to find an agreement with the club and then they give you permission to speak with the player? Only the likes of Barca do it the other way around.

No, everybody does it. What, you think you didn't get in contact with Wan Bissaka before talking with Palace? You reached the full agreement with Pogba before you even went to juventus, as well. Nobody's dumb enough not to sound out a player before making a bid, if it came to that it means talks with the player were going well. Evidently you failed to reach an agreement, but that's different from the player not wanting to join you

There's a difference between asking an agent of a player whether a player would be interested in a move and having a full agreement with a player which is what the likes of Barca do.

£62 million, seems a good bargain, hope we can get Harry for the same.

I would have expected older, established players to go to juve for some easy trophies, but not a young talent like him. Apparently his other choice was PSG as well... i suppose its understandable that he craves for instant trophies, after that heartbreak with Ajax.

But I am pissed. Who the hell choose them over us?

You sound a little like Tony Adams who reckoned Arsenal were a bigger club than Juventus not long ago.

We are bigger than them, but there's no comparison who are in better shape right now.

Yes better shape now, but a lot can change in a season and I doubt it would hurt him to play one season in the EL

I wonder how we are bigger from a Football standpoint, Juventus have won more in Europe and more domestically in a league that is historically strong. We are basically bigger on economic and popularity grounds but not when it comes to the actual game?
