This really has been the definition of a 'new era' transfer muppet thread  It makes the days of tracking planes and seeing messages written on footballs seem ancient.

Tbh I doubt anyone has had time since the final whistle to get on the blower to Mino and inform this guy about it loll. He’s probably saying in the sense that’s what should happen.
Yup thats how i see it too...

His next tweet was "Y ahora qué?" or "And now that?" as in, is that what's going to happen now after losing a final? Still, time will tell...

Raiola's last superstar transfer, Pogba, was announced in early August. I don't think he'll show his hand before he has had everyone raise their stakes over the course of the transfer window.

Methinks a lot of hearts will break when De Ligt officially signs for Barca 2 months later.

Raiola won't want De Ligt going to Barcelona for another few years. Better for Raiola's fortunes if he can steer him to another club as a stepping stone to Barcelona. If De Ligt were to go to Barca now is he likely to make another major move in his career?

I'm a bit fecked, is this happening or wha?

Makes too much sense, Shirley?

Seen this on blue moon. Bertie from Bristol who’s an ex Chelsea fan somehow knows a Utrecht fan all of a sudden.

Got a mate who's a Utrecht fan, who obviously watches a lot of Eredivisie, he' Dutch and goes to the games. I asked him about De Jong and De Ligt, his opinion is that De Jong will be a superstar, but he was very meh about De ligt, doesn't think he's anything special.

Only his opinions of course but he's probably seen more of these 2 players than anyone on BM.

As an aside, anyone think there’s a bit of an agreement between United and Raiola that we’ll let Pogba go if he brings us De Ligt?

Have we decided if this a Woodward signing or not? I just need to know who I need to be scapegoating next season.

De Ligt signing won't only mean he'll be our new captain for the next 8 years. He will essentially ensure that players that are currently on the fence about joining the club will have a quick change of heart when one of the big piece come rolling in. De Ligt is THE signing to make for any club this transfer window, and somehow we are pulling it off if these reports are reliable.

De Ligt is a beast in the same mold as Van Dijk with a potential higher upside, everyone should be praying to whatever deity they believe in that this happens. This signing, should it happen, will be remembered as every bit as important as the signing of Eric Cantona.
