Confused at people. He’s obviously a fantastic player and one that I’d love to see at United.

But if he’s coming here because of an offer that’s better than Barcelona, then it’s for the wrong motives like you’ve all been complaining about. The same motive as Alexis, di Maria, etc. No?

We are in crisis right now; in order to fix this, we need to bring good players at young age to the team for rebuild.

We have the money for this rebuild plan but so far we have spent the big money on the average & old players like Sanchez, Fred, Lukaku & Matic. Signing De Ligt is part of rebuild, he’s quality & nothing like Fred, Lukaku & Matic. If we don’t spend the money to bring in this type of player how are we ever going to the right direction?

As long as we use the money wisely & going for the players that worthy then it’s fine.

Bookies still have him odds on for Barca but we've shortened to less than 3-1.

I understand might be bookies covering United bets received and reducing any possible payout but.....:D
Six hours later, Oddschecker (averages odds) has Barca at evens and us down to 6/4.

Again, I understand the different reasons why odds can change, but....... :D

The way this Copa del Rey final is going, Barca will cave to Raiola’s demands at the full-time whistle.
Well I think Barca arent really flush with cash and whats worse is that they already use all their flow on wages as is. If this was just a question of 50k they would but its more than that.

If Rio is the reason for De Ligt signing, is there anyone more qualifid to be our Director of Football? He's signing players before he's even on the fecking payroll!

We haven’t got any real leaders so with his experience as a captain already Ole should give him the armband.

I can see the headlights now

“United Delight as they sign De Ligt”

Deja vu to when Liverpool beat City 4-3 and we thought they'd cave and nab Sanchez

:(

DE LIGT

on the shirt, nailed.

Back to form after the Ibra and Lukaku shirts, after this season's disastrous ALEXIS 7 one.

Well I’ve got ‘Jessi’ #14 on the back of this season’s shirt!

If we sign De Ligt, would Sancho reconsider signing this summer?
you asking this as a question you want an answer to? If so i'll phone Sancho and ask him for you if you like?

After the barren months of last summer, it looks like this one could well be in full swing already.

Hope someone’s keeping that Sancho thread warm for us!

I'd rather we target felix off de ligt if possible.

Just because Sancho being an English lad wanting to stick one up his old club - I hardly see him being too hard to get in the future.

What have we been through?

Our fans just don’t fancy our club. We have landed Pogba ahead of Real, Mkhitaryan ahead of Arsenal, Dalot ahead of everybody, Fred ahead of City, Sanchez ahead of City, Van Persie ahead of City, Lukaku ahead of Chelsea, Shaw ahead of Chelsea.

Still this rhetoric of ‘I can’t get excited as it always ends in disappointment’ is being spun. We’ve won our fair share of transfer tussles of late.

I’m not sure we should be that smug about getting Sanchez ahead of City....

I really don't know why he'd want to come here right now. Money is the only potential incentive at this point.

As an Ajax supporter, do you think he is coming here or is he 100% Barca bound?

I've been saying the same thing for over a month

if i were running United, my first move would be to throw 150m at Ajax for De Ligt. I'm weirdly confident he'd be open to the move.

despite his young age, De Ligt would not only bring his world class quality as a centreback but also a 'power'/grit that United seem to be missing entirely in this squad

nope  that's literally just Catalan press working overtime for keep Barca to keep potential competitors away.

De Ligt isn't even a fan of Barca nor Spanish football. He's said before that he doesn't even watch La Liga (when De Jong said he preferred La Liga over the Prem), and that English football has the best football culture/'atmosphere' in his eyes.

Also this interview from a couple years ago:

And the Sports chief of De Telegraaf saying the other day that apparently he/his entourage is surprised no English club has come knocking

Poster boy of united's rebuild. Garenteed starting position and of course the money.

We'll get both, don't worry. If we're spending a huge chunk of change on a CB then we're definitely going balls deep in attack. £90m for Sancho and £65m for Felix (both with future incentives). Then we'll probably get AWB for £50m and a midfielder or two.
