Matheus Cunha

For what he would cost us, i'm personally not jaw dropped from what i saw today.

A good player in his prime with good statistics but i reckon we could find better and a player that also suits our system more.

Him being the best player on the pitch when everyone has been shit isnt that great.

Also i dont like his diving around like he is a brazilian grealish.

Average player who we made look a world beater. Its pretty hard not to look one against us.

Best player on the pitch. Skipped past our players with ease and some lovely passes to set up attacks. Scored... Probably meant to cross it but still counts.

Had 2 shots and both were on target. For that alone hes better than our players.

Clearly a good player who looked twice as good as any of ours today. He's almost had the end product of Saka and Cole Palmer.

statistically he's one of the best attacking players in the premier league for almost 2 years now whilst playing for a poor Wolves team.

There's entire compilations of his performances just vs the top 6 premeir league sides.

He's far better than what we have.

Great player, hope we sign him. Horrible little cnut though and shouldn't have even been playing to begin with. I'm sure the FA will ban him for 8 games or something tomorrow, probably have had it decided for a few days now but couldn't let the star miss out against United with the new manager bounce and Molineux rocking!

He’s perfect in that no 10 role. I think he was born to play in that 3421 system. He passed the test. I’m sure Amorim would like to have him as well.

Good player but whether he can maintain his current end product is what will determine just how good he is.

Also not sure how effective he'd be playing for a team that are meant to be on the front foot against a low block. The only times I've seen him look good are when he's got absolute miles of space to gallop through

What do you mean? He is playing for one of the worst teams in the league and he scored 14 goals last season and already has 10 this year. Not to mention the 12 total assists. In a better team he at least maintain this or he does better.

Claims that he’s an average player are incredibly short-sighted. Just take a look at the calibre of clubs the players ranked above him are representing. He deserves a big move this summer. Whether that move is to our club or elsewhere remains to be seen, but there’s no question he has the ability to thrive at one of the so-called ‘big six’ teams.

Some of the comments in this thread demonstrate why United have fallen so far behind.

I remember people talking nonsense about Van Dijk and Mane because they played for Southampton and when you brought up how incredible the statistics were youd get all kind of bro science responses. "He looks good in Youtube clips and stats" It's possible to make anyone look good in a youtube clip it's not possible to make someone a top 5 performer in the premier league for their position for almost 2 years.

The reason United are getting crushed is specifically because most teams in this league now place a huge portion of their recruitment on data.

I'd sign him tomorrow.
Quality player and was the best player on the pitch yesterday by a distance.
Replace Bruno with him and we'd look a hell of a lot better.

Cnut shouldn't have been on the pitch yesterday.

Can guarantee if a Utd player did what he did, they'd be banned already.

Anyone that can carry ball and penetrate teams will improve us it’s very simple we got Bruno who can’t run with the ball forward at all seems like he loses it every singel time a break is on and he got a man to beat or even when he’s ahead he doesn’t know how to shield it well. At times you got to be able to do a man to get openings. I was impressed with him yesterday. For 30-40 M it’s a yes for me but if we’re approaching 60M+ then no.

Perfect player for the 10 in a 3-4-3. That's the exact same position he currently plays in and he thrives there. Fairly young, experienced and a proven PL player. Him and Amad can work very well together.

Any player that we buy ends up as ordinary or shit. I don't think United should buy any players who is good in a system. As soon as they come to United, they become shit. United should just buy shit players or promote youth players maybe instead of being shit, they will become great.

Possible ban to the side, I suspect a team doing better than us might come in for him. Of the premier league players he's clearly the most suited to improving our #10s of which we need 2 in the lineup

Decent player, looked very good against us but that's no yardstick. Would have him in our team but his cost is bound to be high and we need sure things rather than throwing money at players and not being sure what we are getting. If he was 35m I'd have him but let's be honest he's going to be 50m or more.

Why wouldnt we be sure of what we're getting? He's scored 10 goals and has 4 assists in half a season in the league we play in and cant score goals.

the club need to buy proven goal scorers, consistenly scoring more than 18-20 goals each season.

Because it's going to be a big investment, he's a prem proven player who will cost 50m + so it's a big outlay for someone who hasn't played at a top level.

Spoken like a true poster who comments on players without actually watching them play properly.
I love when posters call a player average and then go into another thread and whine that we don’t sign “PL proven talents”

Cunha is an ideal attacking signing. Versatile, very athletic and technical, good production, good age profile.

Wolves paid €50m for him(?) and he is playing under zero pressure for a club in a relegation battle.

It’s a world of difference playing at United, one very few have been able to cope with.

He did play well yesterday through so credit him for that.

Ah yes, no pressure on the main player at the club just above the relegation zone
