First James and now this guy, both counting in the 4-5 transfers!?
James yes, a 16 year old kid, of course not.

Phew.
We do it every transfer window. There is nothing new about this.To be honest, one thing I am happy with about this transfer window, is that we seem to be targeting these highly rated youngsters to add genuine quality to our youth ranks.
There are fecking 9 year olds with youtube videos and not this guy?I know he is 16 but no youtube, seriously?
I think it’s all done separately through different people to be honest. I’d be surprised if these youth signings are holding up any first team transfers.I have no idea why are we focusing to getting these 16 year olds when we should be focusing on getting players who can play right now. Either way, none of our youth players get any chance of featuring in the first team as is.

So you don't think they are doing both? Anyway, they have to invest in youth. Anyway, its another set up with people involved and own budget. But you don’t mind do you?I have no idea why are we focusing to getting these 16 year olds when we should be focusing on getting players who can play right now. I know what you mean, but we have to recruit youth don’t we? The gamble is worth the risk I think, if even one of these players becomes a first team regular it’ll save millions on the market. But what's the point? Most of these players don't get an opportunity till they are 22 as is. Also, we've been stuffing up the squad with mediocre British players.
It's almost like the u18s also have matches and need players right now too. Or shall they play the season with only 10 players?I have no idea why are we focusing to getting these 16 year olds when we should be focusing on getting players who can play right now. What's the point of getting good youth players to fill our academy? Surely that doesn't need an answer. But what's the point? Most of these players don't get an opportunity till they are 22 as is. Also, we've been stuffing up the squad with mediocre British players.

Think for a second and maybe you'll get an idea.

Signing this lad has no correlation to the first team. Nicky Butt has a separate budget for signing youth players. And signing the likes of this lad, along with Emeran, Hoogewerf and potentially Cherki & Mejbri is the way forward.
Not sure how anyone could be annoyed at us signing the best youth players when it has zero impact on first team recruitment.
Except it isn't. They are completely different people doing completely different jobs. Shall I just not do any work tomorrow because my manager has more important work he's doing? Once again, have a little think next time and you'll have a better idea. It's about prioritizing what's important. First team is what generates the revenue for the club... not u18s....
We're linked to countless 'wonder kids' every summer and have signed multiple from abroad every summer for years. Just in the last like 3 years we've signed 'wonderkids' Chong, Traore, O'Connor, Baars, Puigmal, Burkart, plus others and then many more we never actually sign either. The thing is half of these 'wonderkids' like Baars aren't actually any good at all. Every foreign kid to sign will have been reported as a wonderkid at some point.Perhaps it’s just me then, but it feels like we’ve been linked to more ‘wonder kid’ youngsters this summer.
I thought it had something to do with Butt’s growing role and importance within the club.

Dalot was a player we signed for the first team. He had played for Porto's first team and was 19 at the time.Excited about this but again I felt the same about Dalot only to realise that he was not signed for potential but as one of our two major transfers alongside Fred. What if for Ed, a transfer counts as a transfer, youth or not and this is one of the three Ole spoke about earlier?

Thread title was Manchester United player but someone asked for it to be changed as it wasn't accurate. I obligedWhat a player?
My bigger hope is the first team will be allowed to develop a long term, consistent, playing strategy to enable upcoming youngsters the best chance of succeeding in itWith us stockpiling all these young talents from around the world, my only hope is that the current crop of U-23s and U-18s are going to get more of a look-in the first team. True to Manchester United traditions.
I think they forgot the punctuation marks. What a player?
