Mateo Kovacic

Some team that. They’re gonna be even hard to score against with Rice and Rodri in there. 2 solid DM who cover a lot of ground and not only defend but they can chip in with goals aswell.

They will be going for the quadruple

Yeah so no one else has a chance not one club in Europe? Yeah that's it.

Bayern we’re interested but its been documented he only wanted City move. He’s 29 he obviously wants to go to finished project not rebuilding one.

He's a 29-year-old who has yet to establish himself as a starter at a top team. Maybe not that many clubs were interested or didn't match his pretensions.

Anyway this is a weird thing to get hung up on in the same week in which City have seemingly failed to sign Rice, who's going to Arsenal instead.

He's had a very interesting career

Part of 4 iconic teams in European history: Madrid, Chelsea, City, Croatia

Not the most important player in any midfield but a reliable Swiss army knife player comfortable in and out of possession, takes risks sensibly, off ball movement is decent...

Where does he really rank at the end of the day? How good and important is he? And how dense is Todd Boehly, @WeePat?

5 Champions Leagues, he has a crazy trophy haul despite never being the star. or even really a first XI guy bar at Chelsea. Up there with Ronaldo, Benzema, Carvajal and Modric (2 of those might add no.6) and 1 behind Gento. If City are to win one more while he's hear he could go down as the joint most decorated player in European club football history. Very good player, he looked a little off it on joining City first but he's really found his feet. He also allows Rodri extra attacking freedom. Quality player who'll probably retire underrated.

I remember there were plenty of people on here last summer saying that if we were buying a midfielder from Chelsea it should be this guy, not Mount. They were probably right too.

A very clever Pep-signing! Didn't surprise me one bit Pep went for him. Perfect squad player for city who can be utilised in different playing systems. Always puts a shift in! Great passer between the lines. Nothing flash but very effective! Now playing a key roll in city's title push.
You ask yourself the question where were we when he became available. Oh yes of course, we got Casemiro!

What happened to the other CM City signed? The one from Wolves. He looked like a good player and thought we should've gone for him. But don't think he has featured much for City.

Don't talk about it. It's fine.
Even though he cost 60 million euros.

Yep, would’ve been a better fit, all things considered but apparently he only wanted to go to City, so we had no chance to sign him.

What we needed and for some reason has remained largely fit since he has being in city

Yep. Was hardly going to transform our side alone, but he has traits that our midfield lacked, and still does.

Nunes? He’s an excellent ball carrier but it doesn’t seem like the rest of his game is good enough.

....how is Kovacic any different?
By being a better player? Nunes’ main strength also being Kovacic’s main strength doesn’t mean they’re the same. Kovacic retains the ball way better. Nunes looks more like wide midfielder playing in midfield. Even at Chelsea Kovacic was a 90+ passing accuracy guy.

He may be better but he's also a player with very little going for him besides dribbling...he's more mature than Nunes, I'll give him that
