Ten Hag probably found out he played in the Eredivisie once
 
Sigh. I’ve spent the last few years shitting on Mason Mount. Not sure I can turn that around if he joins.
 
I’d laugh at another club for spending big on him. Pay the extra and get caicedo ffs.

Would be a bad signing I think.

Then again he played for vitesse so ETH must remember him from then :lol:
 
I actually think it would be a good signing for United. Mount has always been a very disciplined player and I feel that top managers always want players who they can rely on to follow the plans
 
Hottest links so far have been to a CB who plays on the left side, a right back, and now a pseudo no.10/8. Really got to wonder what the hell the priority list is looking like for positions

He’s going to play next to Casemiro so why not? 50+m for a back up to Bruno would be even crazier.

That was the argument for Southgate continually including him. At some point it was realised that "following instructions" seemed to be an alternate description for "doing absolutely feck all of note."

Hard to get excited about this one. At some point I may be able to convince myself he could have a use. He can run can't he. Plus he was okay for Chelsea in previous years.
 


That fee is absolutely bonkers when he hasn't featured for them all season long...

I do like that he’s achieved a lot already yet is still only 24. Managers love him.
 
Mason would be a decent squad option for us, but before we spend gobs on him I'd like to be sure that we've given our young attacking midfielders a proper chance to break into the first team.
 
Paying more than 50m for Mason Mount with a year left on his contract would be absolutely crazy.

I also don't get Ten Hag changing his obsession from De Jong to this type of midfielder.
 
Between the English/PL tax and our more urgent needs elsewhere, I struggle to make sense of this if we really are pursuing it.

He'd be a much more obvious fit for Liverpool
 
There's a chance this is his agent's work. His preference is probably to remain at Chelsea if they pay him what he thinks he is entitled to. What better club to link your client to than United.

Maybe I am just being hopeful.

Chelsea probably want rid. He hasn't been amazing and it would be great for their finances.

De Jong is pretty unique as a player to be fair.
 
I'd be against him coming even if it was on a free transfer... this can't be true
 
I actually like Mount but I don't know what's more laughable, paying 50M for him or Chelsea wanting 100M for a player with a year left on his contract.
