Mason Greenwood | Officially a Marseille player

Oh I am being better.
I am prepared to forgive. As has his partner.
If you don't agree, that is your decision.

So we should be good Christians and just empty the prisons.

I take it you think the police and courts are too tough on crime?

No need to take that route Buster. If you defend or try to make light of his behaviour you will receive pushback.

The only route I am taking was to agree with another poster.
Is that not allowed.

Greenwood in the squad and we wouldn’t have dropped points in that Burnley game, I’m fairly sure.

Getafe have dropped plenty of points when he has been in the starting XI. Therefore I don't think he would've helped us much, especially with our injuries and absence of poor tactics and no proper striker.

Immature post
13 Goals
10 Assists

In all competitions for Getafe in his first season back after more than a year without playing football.

Most goals/assists than any winger in our club.
Ya it’s a good return despite what the haters say and start breaking down how he scored against

We already have a glut of wingers/wide players, so its doubtful we will be buying another imo. Antony, Pellistri, and Amad are also in the mix for next year.
The problem is none of those are or should be regular starters . They’re ok as squad players but if we want to start challenging what’s above us in the league we do need a RW

Exclusively when it pertains to talented Manchester United players, as it just so happens.

Its just not a priority when we could be strengthening elsewhere imo. We will always need quality options off the bench, so players like Amad and Antony will be useful. Sancho, unless we can magically get a fee from Saudi, is on massive wages and will almost certainly be returning given that a protracted loan doesn't make financial sense. We need a proper striker, which I would expect a new manager to prioritize first and foremost.

Quite agree with you on this.
I said that at the time and made myself highly unpopular (like I care).
What he did was stupid.
But who hasn't done something stupid, especially at his age.

So many people are 'holier than thou'.
Crikey Buster I thought you were better than that

now I’m reading your username in a different way

We aren’t going to spend another 50 million plus on another striker after buying Hojlund last season. I can see a striker coming in but only as a back up. Like you said far bigger priorities. A good manager will get the best out of Hojlund

Hojlund is mid table quality so I can't see someone like Tuchel thinking "that's my guy!". In fact, its more likely that a new manager will get rid of most of ETH's mediocre players than attempt to build a team around them. Certainly, a manager like Tuchel won't tolerate massively downgrading from Kane to Hojlund.

So your view is that spare Garnacho, we are going to get rid of most or all of our wide players this summer is it ? ;)

There's an approximately zero percent chance of that happening, even if we change managers. Because Sancho is on massive wages, he is likely to return under a new manager. Amad has shown a lot of promise in his few appearances. Not all of our wide players have to be consistent starters (see what Arteta has done with Trossard, Martinelli, and Saka lately). Ideally it will be a meritocracy where whoever is healthy and in form gets the most minutes.
How many of them will be missed? We will still have garnacho, Rashford, 1 ofAntony/amad. Get rid of the rest and 1 winger, plus we still have mount/bruno in reserve.

Have you ever tried or threatened to rape anyone, Buster?

Moral arguments are messy, so let's avoid them, shall we?

Practically, if you are a fan of Mason Greenwood, you do not want him coming back here. In England, footballers have their addresses found out, their houses burgled, and their families held at knifepoint... when they aren't somebody who has been so sore a source of ire. How do you think him being a Manchester United player accused (and recorded to have been perpetrating) of rape is going to go exactly?

A player of his footballing profile might help us, sure. I think everyone can accept that. But that player doesn't come without severe risks to the club, the person in question, and the family he's a part of. This is a non starter any way you look at it.

You don't need moral high ground to see why pining for Greenwood to come back is a bit silly. If you want him to have a second chance, that's absolutely fine. But he will not get one as a Manchester United player, because that wouldn't be a second chance at all. It would be a sort of hell which even he might not deserve.

“It’s quite clear we have to make a decision. There is no decision that’s been made,” Ratcliffe said at a media briefing to mark the completion of his purchase of a minority stake in United which delegates control of football operations to his company Ineos.

Asked asked if the Greenwood situation would be a “fresh decision”, Ratcliffe said: “Yeah we will. Absolutely. We will make a decision, and we will justify it one way or the other.”

Ratcliffe added: “He’s on loan obviously, but he’s not the only one – we’ve got one or two footballers that we have to deal with and we have to make a decision on, so we will do that.

“The process will be – understand the facts, not the hype, and then try and come to a fair decision on the basis of values, which is basically: is he a good guy or not?

“Could he play sincerely for Manchester United, (play) well and we’d be comfortable with it and the fans would be comfortable with it.”

These are exact words from SJR himself. He will need to understand the facts and make decision one way or another with proper justifications at the end of the season. I'm sure the decisions will include consideration from both moral and football side of things with inputs from managers, players, staffs and etc.

Hope by end of the season SJR and Greenwood will come out to clarify things once and for all and everyone can move on. Whatever the decision the club make I believe it will be the right decision and for the good of the club.

In any case, I have been a Man Utd supporter all my life and there is just not an option for me to support other club.

I think he’s a very good footballer

I don’t think he will play for United again

But I would demand north of £60m to sell him

If he’s sold, he needs to be directly replaced with a top player because as I said, he is a very good footballer

What a disgraceful and embarrassing way to downplay the horrific nature of what he allegedly did.

I haven't ever battered a woman and threatened rape.

Disgusting post, frankly.

Yes, the fake return is a good one.

Also, curious, do you have a response to the poster who took the time to analyse the quality of opposition he scored against, as well as type of goal? Or is anyone who questions Greenwood a hater?

likewise, already hugely apathetic due to the episode and Uniteds response. Think I’ll feel that way until we see a squad/staff rebuild which is hopefully well underway.
Agreed and it would go a long way to start that journey by taking a strong stance here.
Someone else who has never done something really stupid.
And someone else who believes that no one deserves a second chance.

Come on man....
I have done some really stupid things, but I have never done anything of the sort he did. I'm well entitled to be holier than thou when it comes to disrespecting and potentially harming women. He got a second chance with his partner and he's still continuing his career. You don't get to just pretend like nothing happened.

Wow.
Glad I didn't post this.
Voicing your personal opinion results in so many toxic responses. And the thread title says post respectively....

It's a question, not an accusation. What people heard on the tape, and think Greenwood did, was to threaten and attempt rape. You described that as doing "something stupid", and said that many people do stupid things at his age. I assume you did some stupid things, and I'm wondering if attempting or threatening rape were among those things you did.

Why do you think it's disrespectful for me to ask if you did something stupid in your younger days?
