Leaving aside any personal views on MG, nobody was buying him at this point in his career. He has not played or even trained with a team in 18 months and anybody taking him on also has to factor in the potential backlash. It was always going to be a loan or if we released him a short term free agent signing where the club signing him would be able to get out of the contract quickly if things went south.
It’s weird, that’s what it is. Let him rebuild his career with his family and see where it takes him.
I’m not seeing many reports of his resurgence either.
