RVP-like at times.

That finish from him is just excellent. I don't think many players in world football can put it away the way he did.

He's so damn talented.

I'm still all for buying Haaland though because with how city Operate we will need an insane team.

Having both will be needed

Personally, as good as Haaland obviously is, I am not too concerned about us signing him. I think if Greenwood can learn from Cavani with his movement around and inside the box, which already is the only thing I dont see as top quality (as he is already good at bursting thorugh and dropping off), he can become an insanely good striker and first choice week in week out.

If as expected Cavani moves on and maybe Martial doesnt do it again this season is sold, we may require two strikers as back ups to Greenwood. I wouldnt mind a young talent to come in such as Giouri and an experinced striker that can lead the line at a fraction of the cost, even with the release clause....as if our activity is over this summer....I think we will find out our biggest prioirty next summer is in central midfield, not Haaland

His goal was truly fantastic.

His two touches where perfect that he never had to break his stride or slow down.

Halaand is a player you sign if available. Too good not to.

Cavani and Martial out for Halaand in would be good for our long term future.

Also transfer fee wise he will be a steal.

Plus Haaland and Greenwood would have no problem playing together. Greenwood's natural positional fluidity means it wouldn't matter exactly how you do it on the teamsheet, it would work out on the pitch. Not unlike Haaland and Reus, actually.

His overall play has improved.

His weighted passes are gorgeous.
Could have had two assists if Pogba and James scored that through balls.

That turn and golflike pass to Pogba for the Fred goal....thing of beauty.

I think this boy is gonna be really special. Like, potentially world class. Two footed, great dribbler, and clinical when his game face is on. It's really really hard to name our best front three now when everyone is fit. I think solskjaer would probs go for Pogs Cavani Sancho for the biggest games, and that's fine so long as he squeezes in enough game time in for Mason in the other ones. And that's ignoring Rashford who can be unplayable on the left. Options options.

He's going to be a very good striker, has the potential to be the best striker one day. It's not just his striking ability with both feet. He has really good body control, good agility and very good close control. This means he is relatively press resistant, which makes him dangerous anywhere in the final third. He's a lot stronger too. His goal was nice, but was something we could expect. However the chances he was creating today were superb and came from tight space situations. Considering he has relatively good pace and dribbling ability, this new vision and creativity has allowed to drop deeper to create ( which would do wonders for Bruno). He literally has the ability to be any type of striker he chooses to be due to these range of skills

Shame he missed the euros, would've made a difference. Good for us though, he looks fully fit again.

played the false 9 role really well.

When he dropped off they couldn’t handle his dribbling, they backed off and he’s got a fantastic eye and weight for a quick pass.

Sometimes I look at his finishing gr a tight angle and can't believe what I'm seeing especially in such a young player. Today was another one of those days.

World class finisher, but we already knew that. His all-round game keeps getting better. He's making the right runs more often, his touch and pass are excellent.

I don't know why folks on Twitter keep comparing him to Martinelli. Greenwood is younger yet so much further ahead in his development.

So glad he didn't go to the Euros. He looks fit and sharp. With Rashford out for a while, Cavani yet to return, Martial still nowhere near 100% fit, he's the main man up top.

Incredible movement and positionong for his age as well. Considering he hasn't had many chances at the number 9 position he was marvellous. I have him infront of Martial atm.

First time ive seen him play up top where he really looked the part at senior level. He looks stronger and faster since the break. Hopefully he'll really kick on this season and nail down the first choice striker spot. If we see more of this before seasons end then id stick with Mason and keep Martial as backup and forget about signing a centre forward.

Complete center forward performance today. Set up great chances, made runs, and linked up incredibly well. The layoff to Shaw in the first half was an underrated bit of skill he did.

Yeah, looked very slick. He must have been doing a lot of work with the xoaches this summer.

Don't care if it's hyperbolic but in my mind we're witnessing the rise of our club's all-time top scorer.

I'm sure Cavani will be great for us again this season, but I've got a feeling Greenwood will displace him as the 1st choice striker at some point this season.

Actually crazy how fast his all-around game is developing in front of our very eyes. He was a complete player at u18 level but starting out for the first team he rarely took people on or went for difficult passes. Kid's going to be a fecking monster.

Was surprised to see him run away from the defender for his goal. He's never been slow and pace has rarely been a key part of his game but I wonder has he gotten a little faster as he's developed?

So unbelievably excited to see him continue his progress. Sky is the limit for him, hope he’ll grow into a world class player here.

Once he was inside the box, I had no doubt he would hit the target. That goal was absolute precision, exactly where it had to be.

I was worried that we might be relying too much on Cavani this season, with Martial not exactly hitting form last season. Now we know Greenwood is more than capable as a striker.

His off the ball movement and off ball play was very impressive. He's an intelligent lad and has a silent assassin mentality like Ole.

He executed the game plan and exploited the spaces tremendously.

I think he was probably just under instruction to keep it nice and simple initially, due to his physicality.

But yeah definitely agree, it's incredible how mature his all round game is for for his age, if he gets the game time you just imagine he's gonna either score or assist. If he played in any other league he definitely would have more plaudits.

Really excited to see how he does this season.

This could be the breakthrough season for Money Mase similar to Ronaldo’s 06-07. He looks physically ready, in good spirit and past the 2nd season syndrome. I wouldn’t be against playing with 2 strikers in easier fixtures to give him continuity in that position, instead of switching him constantly between RW and ST.

My one worry about him is that he seems deadly on the counter - which isn't something we are always going to get even if we get it with the big heads of Leeds United.

We need him to play tap in or poacher football against teams that play a low block against us.

Either Greenwood can do it or we are going to need Cavani to do that.

He's actually one of our best weapons against low blocks and has been since he broke through just because he needs so little space to get shots off and has such clean ball-striking technique. Can't actually even remember that many goals he's scored on the break for us.

I do agree that his predatory instincts need to improve though to become a true #9 for us. While there were flashes last season (header against Brighton for example) and he's spent most of his time playing out wide but I'd like to see him fully commit to back post runs when someone crashes in at the near post at the very least. Something he's been lacking in his time in the first team and it'd add an easy 4-5 goals a season for him. Our forwards as a whole bar Cavani have had quite a problem scoring the easy and 'ugly' goals the past few years.

Yeah he has been good against low block - but would you say that was more from the right wing with his ability to unleash a quick shot after doing a step over or two that beats the fullback?

I'm wondering about him centrally and if he could play like he does on the wing against low block teams. Not sure.

One of the best things I saw though was his passing decision and quality, hopefully that can help us against deep defences too.

Does need to be more alert for the scruffy ones but he's talented enough to make something happen against the low blocks. Remember West Ham last year?

His finishing is his greatest asset, but his all round game has been improving so much and so quickly. His decision making, weight of pass, his dribbling and even his physicality.

My favorite player to watch right now, and there is so much more to come. Big season ahead for our Mason.
