I like the guy but he should have get us at least a goal. Messed up a few chances by being extremely greedy.

Hope that was a one off from him
Was not a team player at all today

Understand him shooting in the first half but those in the second half were dreadful

Pogba was unavailable in the box as he is not a left winger he only had Ronaldo to play who was covered. The first half shot when he could have passed was dreadful.

Incredibly selfish game from him. Maybe he is learning this from Cristiano?

I like Mason, but he was an clown today. Awful. Theres no point in having CR7 if our wide players do this.

Stunningly bad.

He needs a proper dressing down after that game, pass the fecking ball when someone is in a better position than you.

Very frustrating today. Might have been 1-0 up after 17 minutes if he just squared it Bruno.

Get the game won first then shoot from wherever you want

Ok that was an absolute shit performance. He was literally playing on his own and forgot that teammates exist. I like the glad but it's ridiculous he got to complete the full 90 minutes.

Completely baffling decision to not square to Bruno in the 1st half for what would have been more than likely a tap in. Unfortunately throughout the game similar decisions where made too.

Garbage? Only player today who looked dangerous. Selfish yes but that’s what happens when you squeeze a box striker like Ronaldo into a team like this, Greenwood, Sancho, Rashford, Martial...do these guys strike you as the types to just fire crosses into the box for Ronaldo to get on the end of...if that was the game plan Greenwood would have been hooked off. He was left on because he was the only one capable of getting a shot off and one could have potentially gone in.

Probably thinking why should I square it when nobody does it for me (maybe the Ronaldo one fresh in his mind).

Understand the frustration to some extent but ffs Mason, earn your stripes first. It's a shame because decision making aside with the shooting, he was by far and away our biggest threat.

He was shit. I’m sure you’re delighted. Now kindly go away and masturbate in front of your Martial poster.

Why would I be delighted? We lost. Yeah and you take and shove those stats up your arse when you're always proven wrong time and time again.

Its great that Mason's not afraid to shoot, because many in our team seem shot shy. However, if he's going to play that way he has to make it count. Should've put us 1-0 up early on and basically passed it to Martinez. After that it was like watching an Arjen Robben tribute act: cut inside from the right and shoot. Needs to vary it up.

Too selfish and this is not the first time but hope he will learn.

Too greedy and started believing the hype. Wasted every opportunity and refused to pass when he should. Ronaldo should tear into him for that.

I get that young kids want to express themselves and have fun. But if you have Ronaldo on your team, you always has to pass the ball. Mason is a top talent but needs to mature his game faster.

I was actually really annoyed with him today. Yeah he was the only one that looked lively, but only in the sense of the most selfish kid in the playground trying to win it all on his own. Trying to shoot from the wing when you’ve got Ronaldo and Cavani in the middle is fecking schoolboy shit… needs to grow up a bit

Think people should be careful in this thread...at 19...being our most dangerous player on the pitch...what he needed was some guidance from the bench...he was being selfish in the first half too...Ole should have had a word to try being Ronaldo into the game.

Honestly, I would say Ole told him to keep doing what he was doing. If one of those go in- you are all in here saying he is selfish but what confidence for a 19 year old- world beater etc.

Calm yourselves down.

He's gonna be an absolute superstar. He's 21 or 20 or whatever and not fully formed yet, but he has absolutely everything he needs. Nobody makes perfect decisions at his age.

Literally the only exciting thing about the game... starting to feel he's a 'sure thing.'

If he'd put two or three of those chances away nobody would be calling him greedy. His finishing wasn't there today though and it has cost us.

Like I was saying yesterday, he's a world class talent but if you're calling that performance anything but diabolical, you can't have watched the same game.

Dangerous today, but also Nani at his worst.

In some ways it shows his development that he can be so influential to our attack over and above Bruno, Ronaldo, Pogba - he was by far the biggest threat to Villa.

But that also translated to immense frustration as he made bad decision after bad decision.

For all of his mature play on the ball days like this remind everybody that he still has plenty to work on and is extremely young. Today all he was seeing was his name up in lights. It's one for the coaching staff to have a word with him about but he should not be slaughtered or discouraged from shooting. That's his strength but we have to get his head up to take better decisions too.

Looked very lively on the pitch but was let down by horrendous decision making. He's usually very good with decision making hope this Isn't a sign for things to come with him and Ronaldo on the pitch together

Biggest mistake of the game was by him taking a lower % shot than passing the ball to Bruno for an easy tap in. Should be dropped the next game for being that selfish.

I don't really mind players being selfish taking shots if we're ahead, but they need to learn to prioritise the team's best interests ahead of their own.

Clearly talented and probably our most dangerous player on the day, but decision making was indeed to quote @Raven diabolical today. Kept shooting when his teammates were crying out for a pass. Having said that the kid is 19 so should be given a break.

Also perhaps those critical of Sancho could maybe get some perspective since in the same positions Sancho would have opted for the pass

He lost his head a bit in the second half and tunnel-visioned, but his talent is immense. He was by far our best attacker throughout the game but was also far, far too greedy in the second half. Don't really blame him though, he's young and our attacking plan is simply all about Hollywood moments anyway, nothing structured by the looks of it.
