I think full backs have figured him out, and he's been shown to be less effective on the RW as of late because he's a natural striker. None of the strengths of his game are suited to playing out wide.
We need to buy a proper RW and start playing this guy as a CF. I've had enough of square pegs and round holes under Ole. He only needs half a chance in the box, let's get him in there more often.
I believe this is the case. Teams understand better now how to handle him.
Scenario 1
When he receive the ball with his backs on his markers, mark him tight close and tussle with him physically. He'll pass the ball back or lose.
Scenario 2
When he's on the ball facing us trying to shoot. Always have two defenders, one to block either sides.
Scenario 3
If he's shooting, pay special attention to his left. He favors his left foot best. High chance he's going to shoot with his left than right. Just get ready to block your right side to block his left foot shots.
Scenario 4
If he's on the ball facing defenders, far from the box and attempting to dribble, don't get close else he'll use his skill to get past by you. So give him space, simply mark his surrounding options and just defend the spaces he's going to move into. He's not a top dribbler. Do this and good chances you'll stop his progress and he'll simply pass the ball to his teammates.
It's getting repetitive seeing all those. It reminds me of how Tony Valencia is getting found out. It is then like clockworks seeing this in motion repeatedly, of course there are the rare moments he beat their defenses either by chances due to lapses of concentration in defense or top form.
One thing for sure, the little chances Greenwood gets when given freely, he is going to take it ruthlessly and high chances he will score
love it.
