Hate it when people claim he can train with Ronaldo etc as a reason to move to. Madrid. They're not the only team with top players. Ronaldo became the best in the world at United playing with Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick in midfield. He didn't need all these 100m players around him to develop.
What happens if Ronaldo returns to Utd along with Bale in 2 years? Where's his training development then If it depends so much on the big names? They change managers and staff more times than I can count. A few years ago the same argument could be made about Mourinho.. Learn under the best manager in the world, train with Ozil, Di Maria, Higuain and Alonso..

It's Real Madrid.
They will always have top-quality players whom he can gain from training with, even if Ronaldo, Bale, Isco, Benzema & all the other attacking superstars were to leave next year they would still replace them with top players. Earlier it was Özil, Di Maria, Higuain and Alonso, now it's Toni Kroos, Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez, Isco & Cristiano Ronaldo.

Ronaldo became the best player in the world with his desire, talent, being under the best manager in the history of football; and playing with players like Wayne Rooney, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Roy Keane, Solskjær, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs & Diego Forlan just to mention some didn't restrict his chances.

To be honest, it looks more like loads are butthurt he didn't go to the club they supported.
The only ones making valid arguments would be those arguing that Bayern Munchen or Ajax would be better choices (which I also believe would be better choices than Real Madrid), and even then we know nothing about the details of his future.

80 grand a week, play and train with Ronaldo and co(not that you'd need to to develop, but who wouldn't *want* to), Madrid's facilities, I'd assume are world class, and worst case scenario, he doesn't become a first team player for Madrid and moves on in a few years, still a kid, world at his feet.

Like it or not, it's a pretty fecking sweet situation to be in for him.

Should of gone to Liverpool who he supposedly supports, I would of looked at Sterling as an example. He won't be in the first team for another 3 year which should be expected. Good luck to him he'll need it.

I doubt anyone would care if he had chosen to go to Ajax, Dortmund or Liverpool for example... clubs which could help him develop into the best player possible. The single worst thing he could have done for his career though is go to Real. Then again, he's young, so you can't blame him for making stupid decisions. I'd probably do the same at his age. But I'd like to think my dad wouldn't have let me make that decision.

All the talk from his camp before he joined anyone was that wherever he went he had to be guaranteed first team football. If he thinks he can get regular game time in that Real Madrid team then him and whoever advises him need to be sectioned in a mental institution ASAP.

Eh I don't get your point? Would you recommend to every sought after young player that he should go wherever he is offered the most money? Of course not (I hope). If his development was to stall (which there is a decent chance it will now that he has joined Real) then while he may be earning 2.5 million a year for the next couple of years (which may not even be true) his earnings over the next decade and more will be less than what they would be if he fulfilled his potential. He would have been much better off in the long run (both as a player and in monetary terms) if he had gone somewhere like Ajax where he would have been guaranteed first team football within 12 months and gotten a better footballing education.

That doesnt make him an idiot and talk before a signing is all part of the bartering process isnt it.
A couple of things, guaranteed 1st team football for a 16 year old doesnt mean a better footballing education. I would bet that training with some of the best players in the world every day at one of the biggest teams in the world would be as valuable as guaranteed 1st team football at a lesser club who would need to use him every game.
He simply wont get regular 1st team games with RM for a couple of seasons but that wont hinder a 16 year olds development simply because of who he is training with, who he will be coached by and the environment he is growing in. Nothing idiotic with his choice and nothing idiotic about his advisors either.

Worst case scenario, If he fails at Madrid he still won't be 21 and he will be set for life financially and still young enough to continue his career elsewhere

you are completely overstating the argument about training with top-stars. Other factors are far more important, e.g. manager/trainer/environment. He went to Real, because they are the most prestigious club in the world and they really made an effort to sign him. (money, public statements, sending star players etc.pp). I highly doubt that many talents would pass up such an opportunity. Still its completely reasonable to suggest that other clubs would have been a better choice.
