Good luck to him. Didn’t work out and really didn’t hit anywhere near his potential. While he had his moments I feel the faith we had with him and Rashford definitely held us back through the years.
Zlatan came in and he was the main man. Cavani came in and showed both Marcus and Tony up in movement and work rate of a top striker.
Even if Rashford succeeds here he still won’t be the main man and the faith we put in both to develop has not been rewarded at all.

What’s baffling to me about Martial is that two seasons ago he had the best second half to a season I had seen from a United striker in a long long time. The ball was sticking to his feet like glue. He was coming deep, linking up play, running past people, scoring goals. It all came together. He looked like being on the verge of the most complete striker in the league. Then the next season he was complete and utter shite. Couldn’t even do the basics. Six glorious months and that’s it. And it wasn’t through lack of opportunity, because he started the next season with a run in the team for four or five months, and just never regained the form of the season before.
I still think he has a ton to offer the right team. But he’s not a player that ever really excelled at being a squad player. He has to play every week to hit form. Off the bench he is borderline useless. So there’s no point keeping him for depth. It’s definitely the right time for him to leave, along with Pogba. Lazy FC.
There are a few players we have that are very good players but don’t suit our club for various reasons. And there are others who didn’t suit the style of play under OGS, but now do. And vice versa, players who were useful for OGS but I don’t see fitting under Rangnick. Doesn’t mean they are bad players. We are so quick to slag players off, label them useless, tell them to feck off, or conversely overhype them. The main players of interest that will undergo a status change are, imo, listed below:
Martial - Needs games and a low pressure environment. SELL
Pogba - Needs to be the luxury player in a hard working team. SELL/RELEASE
Lingard - Good, talented, hard working player with a small club mentality. SELL
Bailly - Balls to the wall, nut case defender, better suited to a smaller club defending backs to the wall. Not a team controlling games, as his biggest weakness is concentration. A last ditch defending master. SELL (low priority)
Wan- Bissaka - A brilliant defender, a not so brilliant footballer. Not a good fit in an attacking technical side. Superb for a side expected to defend a lot and not control games. Needs to be developed if possible. Possible move to Center half, especially as part of a back three. DEVELOP
Fred - Perfect for a high press, high energy team, not so much for a counter attacking side. Which is why we are seeing such an uptick in performances under Rangnick. KEEP
Sancho - Epitome of a system player, where a high press, fluid and direct game is prioritised. Will show his best under Rangnick. Not a Solksjaer type player at all. KEEP
Matic - Still has the experience, calmness and reading of the game to be excellent for a deep sitting, slower paced team or league. Not suited at all to a gegenpress style. SELL
Mata - Tons of experience, much to offer the right team. Needs to be playing in a slower paced league, or retire and become part of the Rangnick coaching development line. RELEASE/COACH
Cavani - On paper fits Rangnick ball. Hard working, amazing team ethic. Lethal. But perpetually injured. Taking up a huge part of the wage bill for barely playing. Would prefer us to bring in a young, high energy player to have his place in the squad, like Karim Adeyemi. RELEASE.
Dalot - Suspect defender but very good going forwards. Needs games and development. Good with both feet. Much more suited to Rangnick ball than AWB. DEVELOP.
Telles - Finally coming into his own. Looked way short of quality required under OGS, but excellent delivery from out wide, now proving critical as overlapping LB. DEVELOP.
McTominay - Looked borderline useless under OGS, passing 5 yards sideways every time. Now being forced to pass forwards, along the ground by Rangnick, and looks a different player. Very useful starting player now and squad player for the future. KEEP.

He will have to lower his wage significantly if he genuinely wants to leave. After a public statement like that, the club should not feel an ounce of sympathy for him. Demand the fee they think is right and stick to it.

Players should get better with experience (minutes played). He barely improved and thats on him. What did he add to his game? He still has limited finishes and you only fancy him from certain angles as he looks for the same type of shot (across keeper from the left), did he work on his FK, Corners, Pens? what about his crossing? He was better in 2016 when he was raw.

Giving this guy a monster contract was a gigantic error of judgment. It's going to be very hard to realise very much value in the market. The way it can happen is if the club and the player are both able to compromise on their expectations.
Otherwise he could be a dead weight around the place for a while longer. I'm fairly certain we have already tried to shift him in the summer. People were living in fantasy land with some of the fees they expected us to get.
He's probably a 30 million player on the wage of a player worth double that. This is why we're struggling massively with him.

dunno? I have no idea what goes on in our training. I didn't even know who developed the class or 92. Who were our coaches back then? Rene? SAF didn't coach the players. Jose bought in his own coaches. Moyes bought in his Everton guys. Its hard to say to be perfectly honest
Yeah, we're going to have to be pragmatic here. Waiting for £xxm won't work and we're still paying wages.
Maybe a lower fee initially (say £15m-£20m) with add-ons (£1m per 5 goals, £1m per 20 games) and a percentage of any future trade profit.
Any buying club then has base price if he's unsuccessful and the additional cost is only if he stays and/or scores.
(We need to avoid any clause that links fee to work rate though)

Thank you for your extremely condescending post. It may shock you to know that I am aware there is more to defending than slide tackling. In fact a great defender stays on his feet more often than not. Nevertheless AWB has much lauded defensive ability. He’s a superb one on one defender and has pace. In my opinion, granted one you may not share, he could - emphasise could - be excellent as part of a back three.
He’s also got to stay fit for more than 3 games for any club to spend big money on him

Yeah, I went for Draxxler as he's a more realistic option compared to the others.
I can't see PSG even considering selling us Veratti or Marquinhos, but you never know.
He is just going to be one of those wasted talents in football….amazing natural ability……really poor desire and unfulfilled talent.
He won’t be the first and certainly not the last that fit that category.

He is a brilliant defender. As a right back. Super solid defensively. No one said he’s never made a mistake, but defensively he’s superb. The odd bad patch aside. Going forward he’s hopeless though.
The worst is when he casually jogs back after he lost the ball and we're getting countered.
What's the point of his pace if he's not going to make use of it. One of the most infuriating player I've seen play for us because he should be a specialist player who's only played in certain games but instead he's a starter and we try to use him in ways that he's not suited for.
Hmmm, he's very good at one aspect of defending, tackling players running at him. He's absolutely terrible at dealing with far post crosses as he never seems to know whats happening around him which also ties in with what the others are saying about his offside awareness. Personally i think he might be better repurposed as a midfield destroyer but thats obviously just speculation.

Mourinho can smell and differentiate between a winner and loser almost instantly after he met them. Clearly he sees through what kind of person Martial and Pogba is. They are talented players , but having talent is meaningless without consistency . Should have sold both and earn around 150m ( after world cup , Pogba was one of the most expensive player in the world ) and use the money to back Mourinho so he didn't turn toxic. United sack Mourinho for 20m sacking fee , give 250k p/w for Martial just for few months purple patch , and might losing Pogba again for free. Anyone behind those decisions must be sacked immediately.
Dalot is better defender than AWB. You guys finally capable of getting 2 straight clean sheet after so long with dalot instead of awb. Sliding tackle isn't good sign of a defender nor it was a good way to defend , it should only be used as last attempt to clean up you or your teammates mess. Top defender read the game , stay on their feet , force the opponent to where they wanted them to go , try to nick the ball from their feet therefore keep possession. Anyone who thinks AWB is better at defending than dalot understand nothing about football. If you think AWB is better just because Ole prefers him over dalot then you should remember who ole is , an absolute failure as manager no club is going to bother hiring him.
